A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CITY TREASURER TO
OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS
AND CORPORATIONS FOR THE PURCHASE AND SALE OF
VARIOUS SECURITIES AND MONEY MARKET INSTRUMENTS
WHEREAS, the City Treasurer of the City of Anaheim has
prepared and delivered to the City Council a Statement of
Investment Policy dated September, 1984; and
WHEREAS, said Statement provides for, among other
things, the purchase and sale of various securities and money
market instruments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously approved said
Statement of Investment Policy; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to open
and maintain an account with financial institutions and
corporations for the purchase and sale of said securities and
instruments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. That the City of Anaheim, a validly existing body
corporate and /or politic under the laws of the State of
California, ( "the City ") be and it hereby is, authorized and
empowered to open and maintain accounts for the purchase and
sale of U.S. Government Securities, Federal Agencies Securities,
and all manner of Money Market Instruments, issued or unissued
including Repurchases and Reverse Repurchases ( "Securities ") and
that the City Treasurer or her designated representative be, and
hereby is authorized to buy or sell securities provided that
such actions comply with the Charter of the City of Anaheim and
all state and federal laws applicable to such transactions; and
2. That financial institutions and corporations at
which the City has opened an account ( "the financial
institutions ") are authorized to receive from the City, checks
and drafts drawn upon the funds of the City by the City
Treasurer or her designated representative, and to apply the
same to the credit of the City or to its account with the
financial institutions and said institutions are authorized to
receive from said Treasurer of the City bonds or securities for
the account of the City; and
3. Financial institutions are further authorized to
accept instructions from the Treasurer as to the delivery of
securities from the account of the City and delivery to the
Treasurer of such securities, issued as directed by her, shall
be deemed delivery to the City; and the Treasurer shall have the
fullest authority at all times with reference to any transaction
deemed by her to be proper to make or enter into for or on
behalf of the City with the financial institutions provided that
such transactions comply with the City of Anaheim Charter and
state and federal laws applicable to such transactions; and
4. All confirmations, notices and demands upon this
organization may be delivered by the financial institutions
verbally or in writing, by telegraph or telephone to the
Treasurer and she is authorized to empower any person, or
persons, that she deems proper, at any time or times, to do any
and all'things that she is hereinbefore authorized to do.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 2nd day of October, 1984.
