A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DETERMINING THAT A CERTAIN PUBLIC
STREET SHOULD BE ABANDONED AND ESTABLISHING
CONDITIONS PRECEDENT TO SAID ABANDONMENT.
(PORTION OF CONVENTION WAY)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has
elected to proceed under the provisions of the Street Vacation
Act of 1941 (Section 8300 et seq., Streets and Highways Code) in
connection with requests for vacation and abandonment of public
streets within the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did, by resolution duly posted
and published, give notice of its intention to abandon the follow-
ing described public street; to wit, a portion of Convention Way
(hereinafter "Street ") more specifically described as follows:
That portion of dedicated public street, commonly known
as Convention Way, located in the City of Anaheim, County
of Orange, State of California, from 1,177.68 feet to
57.00 feet east of the centerline of West Street lying
within those portions of the Northwest quarter of Section
27, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, partly in the Rancho
Cajon de Santa Ana and partly in the Rancho Los Bolsas as
per map recorded in Book 51, page 10, Miscellaneous Maps,
records of Orange County, described as follows:
Beginning at the centerline intersection of Convention
Way and West Street, as said intersection is shown on a
Parcel Map filed in Book 100, page 42, Parcel Maps, rec-
ords of Orange County; thence following along the center-
line of West Street S 0° 49' 11" E, 80.91 feet; thence N
89° 46' 05" E, 57.00 feet to an intersection with a line
parallel with and 57.00 feet easterly of the centerline
of said West Street, said point of intersection being a
point in a line tangent to the beginning of a curve con-
cave southeasterly and having a radius of 25.00 feet;
thence Northerly, Northeasterly and easterly along said
curve through a central angle of 90° 38' 00" an arc dis-
tance of 39.55 feet to an intersection with a line
parallel with and 55.00 feet southerly of the centerline
of said Convention Way; thence N 89 48' 39" E, 1,072.53
feet; thence N 21° 50' 41" E, 108.68 feet to an intersec-
tion with a line parallel with and 55.00 feet northerly
of the centerline of said Convention Way; thence S 89°
48' 49" W, 539.78 feet along said parallel line to an in-
tersection with the east line of the West half of the
Northwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 27,
Township 4 South, Range 10 West, S.B.B. & M; thence S 0°

49' 11" W, 23.00 feet to an intersection with a line par-
allel with and 32.00 feet northerly of the centerline of
said Convention Way; thence S 89 48' 49" W, 581.90 feet
to the beginning of a curve concave northeasterly and
•� having a radius of 25 feet; thence Westerly, Northwest-
erly and Northerly through a central angle of 89° 21' 57"
an arc distance of 38.99 feet to an intersection with a
line parallel with and 57.00 feet easterly of the center-
line of West Street; thence S 89° 48' 58" W, 57.00 feet
to the centerline of said West Street; thence S 0 49'
05" E, 79.10 feet to the point of beginning.
Excepting therefrom the westerly 57.00 feet thereof lying
within the East half of West Street; and
WHEREAS, on the 5th day of August, 1980, a public hearing
was held to allow interested persons to submit evidence concerning
said proposed abandonment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does
find from the evidence submitted to it that said Street is unneces-
sary for present or prospective public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has further determined that
certain conditions must be met prior to making of an order vacating
and abandoning said Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim does determine that said Street should be aban-
doned and vacated subject to the following condition:
Commencement of construction of the Convention Center
Betterment II improvement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that should the conditions set
forth in the preceding paragraph be fulfilled within, one hundred
eighty (180) days of the date of this Resolution, the City Council
will make its order vacating and abandoning said Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that should all of said conditions
not be fulfilled within said one hundred eighty (180) days or such
further time as the City Council may grant, then this Resolution
shall terminate, and resort shall be had to a new and separate
proceeding.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
- City Council of the City of Anaheim this 5t a o August, 1980.
