A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM INITIATING ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS
FOR RED GUM - CORONADO NO. 8 ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM AND FIXING A TIME, DATE AND
PLACE OF HEARING ON SAID PROPOSED ANNEXATION
PURSUANT TO SECTION 35220 OF THE GOVERNMENT
CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, a resolution for the proposed annexation
designated Red Gum - Coronado No. 8 Annexation to the City of
Anaheim in the County of Orange was heretofore filed by the
City of Anaheim and accepted for filing April 22, 1980 by
the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission
pursuant to Part 2 of Title 4, Division 2, commencing with
Section 35000 et seq of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the distinctive short form designation
assigned by the Commission to the territory proposed to be
annexed is: RED GUM - CORONADO NO. 8 ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM; and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to
the City of Anaheim consists of approximately 19.6694 acres of
land located west of Red Gum Street, north of Coronado Street,
and east of Red Gum Street, north and south of Coronado Street,
in the County of Orange, and the exterior boundaries thereof
are specifically described in the legal description attached
hereto and by this reference made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, the Commission has heretofore determined
in its Resolution No. 80 -44, adopted on May 28, 1980 that the
territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited; and
WHEREAS, the reasons for the proposed annexation to
the City of Anaheim as set forth in the proposal thereof
submitted to the Commission by the City of Anaheim are as
follows:
1. Requests by the owners of certain of said
unincorporated territory for annexation to the City of
Anaheim; and
,,. 2. To provide full municipal services to an
unincorporated area that is remote from County service
facilities and thereby increase the economy and
efficiency of urban services.
WHEREAS, the Commission's Resolution No. 80 -44,
making determinations, set forth the following terms and
conditions of said proposed annexation:

1. The boundaries of the territory proposed
to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are specifically
described in the legal description attached to said
. - � Commission Resolution and by such reference made a
part thereof. Said territory is found to be uninhabited
and is assigned the following designation: RED GUM -
CORONADO NO. 8 ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
2. The City of Anaheim is designated as the
conducting authority and the City Council thereof is
directed to initiate annexation proceedings in
compliance with said Commission Resolution.
3. Any election called upon the question of
confirming an order for annexation shall be called,
held and conducted upon such annexation only within
the territory ordered to be annexed.
4. The City of Anaheim, as applicant, shall be
liable for and pay all proper expenses incurred in
conducting proceedings for the annexation.
5. The City of Anaheim is directed to commence
AB 8 property tax transfer determinations with the
County Administrative Office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Anaheim does hereby initiate
proceedings pursuant to Section 35220 of the Government
Code for the annexation of the hereinabove described
territory to the City of Anaheim.
2. That September 30 , 1980, at the hour
of 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Anaheim
Civic Center, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard, Anaheim,
California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when
and where the City Council will hear and resolve any
oral and written protests, objections, or evidence
which shall be made, presented or filed relating to
said proposed annexation.
3. That any owner of land within the territory
proposed to be annexed may file a written protest
against the annexation with the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim at any time prior to the conclusion of the
City Council's hearing on the proposed annexation.
Each protest shall state the name and address of the
owner of the land affected and the street address or
other description sufficient to identify the location
of such land. Protests may be made on behalf of an

,s - owner by an agent authorized in writing by the owner
to act as agent with respect to such land. Protests
may be made on behalf of a private corporation which
is an owner of land by any officer or employee of the
corporation without written authorization by the
corporation to act as agent in making such protest.
4. The City Clerk shall cause notice of the
hearing on the proposed annexation to be given as
provided in Sections 35222 and 35223 of the Government
Code of the State of California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 26th day of
August, 1980.
