RESOLUTION NO. 69R-507
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM REJECTING THE BID RE-
CEIVED UP TO THE HOUR OF 2:00 P.M. ON
AUGUST 28, 1969, FOR WORK ORDER NO. 419.
WHEREAS, heretofore, to wit, on August 5, 1969, the
City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt Resolution No.
69R-453 finding and determining that public convenience and
necessity required the construction and completion of a public
improvement consisting of the'improvement of Vermont Avenue
from approximately 960( feet East of Dakota Street to approxi-
mately 278 feet East thereof, in the City of Anaheim, Work
Order No. 419; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and direct
the City Clerk to publish a notice according to law inviting
sealed proposals for the furnishing of all plant, labor,
services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and
transportation including power, fuel and water and performing
all work necessary to construct and complete said public
improvement, and fixing the 28th day of August, 1969, at the
hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the opening
of said bids in the C01lncil Chamber in the City Hall, in the
City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, upon said 28th day of August, 1969, at the
hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., the City Clerk and City Engineer
did open the bid received up to that hour, in public, in the
City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and the City Engineer did
tabulate the bid so received and did report the result thereof
to the City Council at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day
of September, 1969; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the bid received
is in excess of the estimate of the City Engineer of the cost
of said public improvement and is not representative of actual
construction costSj that said bid should be rejected, and some
changes in extent and design of the work made which will result
in more competitive bids; and that said job should be readver-
tised at a later date.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
the City of Anaheim that the bid received up to the hour of
2:00 o'clock P.M. on August 28, 1969, tabulated by the City
Engineer and submitted to the Council on September 2, 1969,
for the construction of the improvement of Vermont Avenue,
from approximately 960 feet East of Dakota Street to approxi-
mately 278 feet East thereof, in the City of Anaheim, Work
Order No. 419, be, and the same is hereby rejected; and that
some changes in extent and design of the work be made which
will result in more competitive bids; and that said job be
readvertised at a later date.
