RESOLUTION NO. 68R-402
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM CHANGING THE NAMES OF CERTAIN
STREETS IN THE NORTHEASTERN AREA OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, since the Sunkist-Mira1oma overcrossing of
the Riverside Freeway has been completed, no street names have
officially been assigned to that portion of the street which
constitutes the overcrossing; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim has, by Resolution No. PC68-194, recommended that the
new portion of the street south of the Riverside Freeway be
named "Sunkist Street," and the new portion of the street north
of the Riverside Freeway be named IIMiraloma Avenue"; and that
to avoid confusion, the existing Sunkist Street north of the
recently completed portion of the overpass, extending northerly
from Ronmeya Drive, be renamed IISunkist Way," and the old por-
tion of Mira10ma Avenue, which is a cul-de-sac street and ends
at the Riverside Freeway, be renamed IIMiraloma Way"; and
WHEREAS, after a thorough study of the matter, the
City Council finds that the recommendations of the City Planning
Commission should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that:
1. The existing Sunkist Street north of the recently
completed portion of the overpass, extending
northerly from Romneya Drive, be, and the same is
hereby renamed "Sunkist Way";
2. The portion of the old Miraloma Avenue right-of-
way, which is a cul-de-sac street and ends at the
Riverside Freeway, be, and the same is hereby
renamed "Mira1oma Wail;
3. The new alignment of Sunkist Street, from La Palma
Avenue to the Riverside Freeway, be, and the same
is hereby named ;'Sunkist Street";
4. The new alignment of Mira10ma Avenue, from Blue
Gum Street to the Riverside Freeway, be, and the
same is hereby named'Miraloma Avenue."
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 9th day of July, 1968.
