was calied to order at 2;10 O'Clock P.M, by Chairman Gauer, a
quorum being present.

D- Li1X CLBANBRS), 1929 Anaheim-Olive Road. Anaheim, California,
as Lessee, requesting permission to ERBCT A DBTACHHD SIGN, set
back six and one-half feet from the street right-of-way, on the
property described as 1929 Anaheim-Olive Road, situated on the
~ North side of said street between Placeatia Avenue and Ash
Street. The property is presently classified C-1.
This Variance was held-over from the meeting of November 3, 1958,
to see if there could~be a combination of stores on each sign
in order to not have too many signs in the area. Mr. Schurman
appeared before the Commission and stated that with the 60-foot
setback requirement for these stores and his type of business,
it was necessary for him to have a sign on the highway; that he
had tried with a sign on tlxe building and that this was not
adequate to serve his type of business. There are existing
signs, one at the far end oF the property, and one in front of
the fourth store on the property, and with this request, it will
make three signs for the six stores. Mr. Krogman, the owner of
the property, stated to your secretary that if any of his other
tenants requested signs, they wouid be told by him that no more
could be permitted. Mr. Schurman also stated that, as car as
he could ascertain, the balance of the tenants in the stores have
no desire to.erect signs. No oae appeared in opposition to the
granting of the Variance. THH HEARING WAS CIASBD.
Upon a motion by Commissioner Morris, seconded by Commissioner
Thompson and carried, it was moved by Resolution N0. 97, Series

three years was agreeable to him, and this was apparently satis-

and South Street. It was pointed out that this property is presently
R-1, and until some application was made for rezoning, it would

Mr. Delmar Pebley appeared before the Co~ission and stated that
he had these lots for sale for two years and had beeen able to
find~no buyers for these lots on account of being situated across
the street from a churr.h, which he believes presently does have a
parking problem. He also stated that they had applied for R-3 some
time ago, and this was denied; but that now they would like to

dwellings and it does appear to him to be a reasonable use of the

by a resident next door that there would be a 36-foot strip left on

built on same. It was suggested that the owner, Mr. Farnsworth,
contact the Property to the west to see if he could not use this
36-foot strip and piace same into the two lots that he proposed to
cut off of his property, which is at the turn of ths street. This

COUNTY ZONING a proposed change of zone on the south side of Lincoln Avenue about
660 feet east of Gilbert Avenue. It is proposed to rezone this
property to C-1 and upon a motion by Commissioner Summers, seconded
by Commissioner Hap9ood and carried, it was moved that the Commission
recommend denial of this application for the reason that there is
an excessive amount of C-1 zoned property at the present time in
this area.
