1 WHEREAS, The City Planning Comm~'ssion of the City of Anahe~ has re-
ceived a Verified Petition from ALLEN BARTSHE, 1~31 Century Drive, Orange~ Caii-
2 fornia, as owner, E~-.~EH A. THILL, 747 North Los Angeles Street, Anaheim, Cali-
fornia, as Authorized Agent of a certain parcel of real property situated in the
5 City of Anaheim, County of Orange~ State of California, described as follows:
4 A portion of Lot 7, Anaheim Extension, beginning at a point which
is North 0° 071 30" East 141.83 feet from the bolt marking the
5 intersect;ion of Placentia Avenue and East Center Street; thence
South 81° 19' 30" West 137.83 feet to a point; thence North 12°
8 55~ 20" ~est 70.19 feet to a point; thence North 81° 19' 30" East
153.85 feet to a point in the centerline of P'lacentia Avenue,
~ said centerline being the Easterly line of said Lot 7; thence
along said centerline of said Plaoentia Avenue, South 0° O?~ 30"
8 West 70.83 feet to the point of beginning; excepting therefrom
tha~ portion included in the public highway, along the. east side.

The applicant requests permission to use the present residential
10 building at 111 North Piacentia Avenue and further described above
for the retail sale of Rattan Furniture and Gift Items. The prop-
11 zrty ~s presently classified as R-A~ RESIDENT/AL AGRICULTURAL.
12 ~ '~HEREAS, The City Planning Commission did hold a Public Hearing at thc
C~ty Hall in the City of Anaheim, on ;Ls~ch 5, 1956, NOTICES of which said
13 Public Hearing were duly given as required by law and the provisions of the
14 ANAHED3 MUNICIPAL CODE, Section 9200; and
WHEREAS, Said Commission, after duc inspection, investigation and studies
15 made by itself and in its behalf and after due consideration of ali evidence and
reports offered at said Hearing, does find and determine the following facts.
i. There are exceptional circumstances applicable to the intended
17 use of the property in that this corner of East Center Street
and Placentia Avenue is converting to Commercial Uses.
18 2. The granting of ~he Variance will allow the applicant th~ same
property rights as others in the area.
19 3. The proposed use should not he detrimental to other properties
in the area.

NOW, THEREF~, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ANAheiM CITY PLANNING CC~ISSION
21 HEREBY GRANTS VARIANCE NO. 500 SUBJECT TO:
22 1. The deeding of 20 feet along Placentia Avenue for street widening.
2. The installation of improvements as required by the City Engineer
