PC 1957-1958-234 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING CONNISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
DBNYING VARIANCE NO~ 948.
WHEREAS, The City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim has received
a Verified Petition from the Owner(s) of a certain parcel of real property situated
in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, described as follows:
The Easterly 95.05 feet of the S 1/3 of the E½ of the following described land: Com-
mencing at a point in the South line of Broadway Street at the NW corner of lands formerly
of E~mis A. Evans ~nd thence S 80 rods, more or less~ to the South line of the quarter
Section; thence W 60 rods to a stake; thence N 80 rods, more or less, to said Broadway
Street, and thence E 60 rods To the place of beginning and containing 30 acres of land,
more or less, and being a part of the S½ of the N~ of Section 17, T4S, R10W, S.B.B. & M.
Excepting therefrom any portion thereof included in the SE~ of the SE~ of the NE½ of
said Section 17.

WHEREAS, The City Planning Commission did hold a Public Hearing a% the
City Hall in %he City of Anaheim, on April 21, 1958, NOTICES of which said
Public Hearing were duly given as required by law and the provisions of the ANANEIM
NUNICIPAL CODE, Sec%ion 9200; and
WHEREAS, Said Commission, after due inspection, investigation and studies
made by itself and in its behalf and after due consideration of all evidence and
reports offered at said Hearing, does find and determine the following facts:

NOW, TNEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING CONNISSION
HEREBY DHNI~S VARIANCE NO. 948 TO ERHCT A CHURCH ON L~SS THAN ON~ ACR~, FOR THE
R~ASONTHAT THE SUBJECT PROPERTY IS UNDER ONE ACR~ IN SIZe.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this 21st day of

I, R.W. NNJNGALL, Secretary of the City Planning Commission of the
City of Anaheim, do hereby certify that the foregoing RESOLUTION NO. 234 - SERIES
19 5~ 58 was passed and adopted by a motion duly made, seconded and carried at
an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the 21st
day of April, 1958.

1. A variance was required to be filed on this property because the parcel was under one
acre in size, ~ontain~n§ 41521.19 square feet, which is 2038.81 square feet under
one acre.
2. The parcel is of such shape that it does not lend itself well for this use, being
long and narrow ~nd does not adequately protect the surrounding preperties.
3. The churck building and parking will rear on the rear properties of the single
family residents on ~ann Street.
4. Protests were received from most of the residents on Farm Street and others in the
area that their privacy would be invaded by the proposed use of the property.
5. The parkin§ provided is just enough to cover the number of seats in the church
building. There could be no expansion of facilities on this property.
6. All churches anticipate growth~ although it was brought out at the He~ing
this sect limits their membership in any one church. It does not appear
reasonable that if the growth exceeds that set as a limit~ that these facilities
would not be used until another site had been secured.
