A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
RECOM]~2~DING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM THAT RECLASSIFICATION
NO. P-59-60-52 be D~NIM. D.
WHEREAS. The City P1snning Commission of %he City of Anaheim has received
a Verified Petition from the property owner(s) of certain real property situated
in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, described as follows:
Lots 1, 2 ~nd ~ of Tract No. 1175 and further described as the northeast corner of
~ast Center Street and Bvelyn Drive.
The Applicant, MRS. L:VELYN BONNAT, as Owner, 124 ~velyn Drive requests that the
subject property be reclassified from R-2, TWO ~AMILYP. ESID~NTIAL to C-3, HF_AVY CO~4~RCIAL
ro permit the erection cf a motel.
W~S, The City P1snning Commission did hold a Public Nearing at the
City Nail in %he City of Anahel~ upon said VERIFIED PETITION of RECLASSIFICATION
NO. F- 59-60-52 on the 16th day of November , 1959 , NOTICE of which said
Public Nearing was duly given as required by law and the provisions of %he
ANA~IEIMMUNICIPAL CODE, Section 9200; and
WHEREAS, Said Commission, after due inspection, investigation and studies
made by itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence
and reports offered at said Hearings, does find and determine the following facts:
1. The subject properties were considered in 1956 for the erection of Medical-Dental
offices and retail stores.
2. The residents of Tract No..1178, built by the Bonnat's were in favor of this
development until it was learned that /he largest developm2n~ would be retail stores,
thereupon they voiced their objections and the reclassification was denied.
3. Now there is proposed a still heavier use, namely, a motel and the plans presented
show one built in Arizona, with spacious grounds, which would not be suitable in this
location.
4. A petition was received from 43 property owners in tract no. 1178 protesting the propos~
proposed reclassification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
HEREBY RECOMMENDS TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANA~IEIM THAT RECLASSIFICATION
NO. F-59-60-52 from R-2, TWO PAMILYP,~IDRNTIAL to C-3, }LEAVYCOM~CIAL be denied.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and apDrcvod by me this 16th day of November, 1959.
