A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING CONOufISSION OF TfiH CITY OF ANAHEIM RFCOMh~NDING TO
THL• C~TY COUNCIL TI-IE AA~NDA~NT OF TITLE EIGHTEEN, CHAPTER 18.04, ZONING CODE -
"GENER~IL PROVISIONS", BY REVISION OF SECI'ION 18.~4.•030 (a) and SEC?ION 18.04.030 (b),
PARKING REQUIREb~N75, TO THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE.
WHEREAS, said Amendment revises parking space requirements for (a) dwellings,
and (b) for buildings other than dwellings for said specific zone; AND
WFIEREAS, the City Planning Commission deems it necessary +,hat said amendment
is necessary in order tu provide for the public health, safPty, and general welfare;
AND
LYF~REAS, the City Planning Commission did initiate and conduct a public
hearing on the 9th day of July 1962, and d:.d adopt said Amendment at a Regular Meeting
on July 9, 1962;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY PLANNING COMMISS[ON DOES R~COhM~ND TO THE
CITY COUNCIL OF T:~ CITY OF ANAHEIM TI-IE ADOPTION OF TF~ AMENDMENT I'0 TITLE EIGHI'EEN.
CHAP?ER 18.04 ZONIN;~ CODE -"GENERAL PROVISIONS", OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE AS
FOLIAWS:
Section 18.04.030 (a)-For dwellings~, parking spaces shall be provided on
the same site with tne main building and such park-
ing spa:.es shall not be less than ten (10) feet wide
by twenty (20) feet leng, shall have adequate provi-
sions for ingress and egress, shall have a minimum
of nine (9) feet clear access to the abutting alley
or access areas, shall not ~a used for storage or
other purposes which will reduce its usability for
off-street vehicular parking purposes, and shall
no~ extend in front of the building setback line.
Section 18.04.030 (b)-For buildings other than dwellin~s, parkin9 spaces
shall be provided or, the same lot with the main
building, or contiguous thereto, or within a reason-
able distance therefrom, in accordance with parking
requirements as specified in this section.
In determining compliance with minimum parking
requirements, parking areas devoted exclusively
to customer parking shall be credited on the basis
of one space per 325 square fePt of usable parking
lot area. Parking areas devoted exclusively to
employee parking shall be credited on the basis of
one space per 300 square feet of u$able parking
lo: area. Usable parking lot area shall include
parking spacos, access and circulation drives, and
interior parkino lot landscaped areas.

All parking shall be pz~ovided in a manneT which
will.encourage maximum safety and convenier.ce to
' the user. Parking layouts, circulation of traffic,
and the location af drives with respect to access
and egress from the abutting etreets or hiyhways
shall be subject to the review and approval by the
Development Review Committee.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this 9th day of
July, 1962.
