SERIES 1962-63 i :~~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM RECOMIu1~NDING TO THE CITY COUN-CIL TEiAT PLANNING STUDY N0. 17-122-5, EXHIBIT N0. 3~ BE ADOPTED RELATIVE TO THAT AREA EAST OF RIO VISTA STREET, NORTH OF SOUTH STREET~ AND SOUTH OF-THE RIVERSIDE FREEWAY~ AS IT RELATES TO A LAND U5E POLICY. 1VHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim is undertaking ~ the formulation and acloption of a General Plan of land uses, and is presently reviewing and preparing amendments to the Anaheim Zoning Ordinance, said General 5 Plan and amendments to be discussed at publiā€¢~ hearings within a reasor,able time; 6 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLI/ED THAT in order to protect the public health, safety, 7 and_~eneral welfare of the City of Anaheim..that Planning Study No. 47-122-5 be aclopted,~in order~to'encourage i:he continued orderly development of that area $ commonly known as the "East Anaheim Area, does hereby find the following: 9 THAT, the area covered by Planning Study 47-122-5 is predominantly dev~lop- ing for single family residentzal use and should be encouraged to continue to 10 develop in a similar manner; AND Z~ THAT, those vacant lands, including those abutting arterial highways, should wherever possible, be developed for single family residential development, and 12 where said lands abut arterial highways, the lots should be backed up and provision made for walls; AND 13 THAT the sho , pping center now under development at the northeast corner of 1~ Lincoln and Rio Vista should be permitted to expand into whatever portion of its present 18 acre County C-1 zoning is necessary for the provision of commercial 15 facilities to serve the present and future residents of the area; AND THAT, the triangular parcel at the southeast corner of Lincoln and Rio Vista 16 due to unusual conditions of size and shape be proposed for light commercial uses, 17 here the intensity of use, hours of operation and performance characteristics are compatible to the single family residential homes abutting to the south; AND ~'$ THAT, the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim hereby adopts Planning ~9 tudy 47-122-5, Exhibit No. 3 as a statement of land use policy and a framework ithin which the merits of individual applications mig}it better be considered, ~~ nd state= their intention to adopt said study as a Precise Plan in accordance ith Article 10 of the State Planning Law following the completion and adoption a1 f the General Plan. 22 THE FOr2EG0ING RESOLUTIOIJ IS signed and approved by me this 23rd day of ~ uly, 1962. y 23 2a . ~ , ~...2 25 CHAIRh1AN ANAHEIM CITY FLANNING COMM S ON 26 ATTEST: 27 _ . ~ 29 ,' ,, ~ c 30 STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) COUNTY OF ORANGE ) ss 31 C ITY OF ANAHE IM ) I, Ann Krebs, secretary of the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim 32 o hereby certify that the foregoing RESOLUTION N0. 429, SERIES 1962-63, was passed and adopted by a motian dully made, seconded and carried, at a Regular Meeting of the City Planning Commis~ion held on the 23rd day of July, 1962.
