A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
THAT PETITION FOR VARIANCE NO. 1546 BE DENIED
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission o~: :{.e City of Anaheim did ceceive a verified Petition for Variance fcom
RALPH !No MAAS9 118 South Los Angeles Street9..Anaheimy Californiay Owner of cextafn real prop-
erty situated in the City of Anaheim, Couni;y of Orangey State of California described as Lot
Nos. 1 and 2 of the Reg3er Subdivisiony as per map recorded in book 6 page 37 of Miscellaneous
Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said county

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Aneheim on
Feb'ruary 49 1963y at 2:00 o'clock P.M., notice of said public hearing having been duly given as requi:ed by
lew snd in accocdance with the provisions of the AnaS~eim Municipal Code, Chepter 18.68, to hesr and consider evidence for
and ageinst said proposed variance and to investigate and make finding's and cecommendetions in connection therewith;
and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, investigetion, and study mede by itself end in its behalf,
end etcer due consideration of all evidence and reports offered es said hearing, does find and detennine the following
facts: ~
1. That the petitioner requests a ve:iance from the Anaheim Municipel Code: Sect3on 18032~020 which
stipulates permitted uses 3n the R-•3y Mult3ple Fami2~y Residential9 Zone, to estabiish z sexvice
station on subjec~t property~
2.. That the propose3 use wouid be Tncompatible with the uses existing and projected on
the proposed General P1an for the west side of Broadway~
3~ That the service staiion p:roposed by the petitioner reflects a type of architecture
incompatible to the public bul'ld'ings now under construction, and that only business and ;
professional offices ;:ith architecture compatible with these facilities is the only one
which could be approved by the Commission.,
4o That the pe!itione~ did not prove har.dship in land use, since a variance cou'ld not
be approved which wouid have the effeci of granting a special privilege not shared by other
property in the same zone and vlcinity~
5. That fifteen (15) persons appeared and one letter was received in opposition to subject
petition~

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Aneheim City Plenning Commission does hereby deny subject
Petition for Veriance on the besis of the aforementioned findings.
