WHEREAfi, ~DEa Section 1£~024~030 (3-a) provides thata
(3) "REAR YARD - Minimum rear yard shall be twenty-five feeta
(a) Where an equal area is provided elsewhere on the lot, said
reax yard may be reduced to ten feeto In computinq the equal
area, side and rear yard areas may be included, but the required
front yard area sha11 not be includedy and
(b) Additions to existing dwellings may be permitted to extend into
the required rear yard areasy but shall not extend closer than
ten feet to the rear lot liney nor closer than five feet to the
side lot lineo A maximum of thirty-five per cent of the existing
rear yard area may be covered by such additions, provided other
outdoor living area is available elsewhere on the lot; but not
including required front yard, parking or driveway areaso" and
WHEREAS, the City Plannirg Commission did initiate and conduct a public hearing on the
25th day of May, 1964, and did adopt said Amendment at a Regular Meeting at said hearing, and
WHEREAS, there appears to be some ambiguity in the administration of the existing Code,
based on the fact that said section, as presently written9 permits a minimum side of five feet
to be calculated.as outdoor Iiving area, which was not the original intent of the Code9 and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission deems that the amendment of said provisions is
necessary in orde•r to adequatoly administer the origi~al intent of the Code in order to maintain
the present standard of outdoor living areao
NOW9 THFREEORE BE IT RESOZVID, that the City Planning Commission does hereby recommend
to the City Council nf the City of Anaheim.that the adoption of an amendment to Title Eighteeq,
Chapter 1Ro24, One Family ResidentiiaT, Zone of the Anaheim Municipal Code, by the amendment
of Section 1Ra24,030 (3-a) and (3-b) as followss

minimum d3.mension of 10 feetY but the required front area
