MNERFAS, Codes Section 18>040030 (b-5) p:ovides that "for Churches, High Schools,
Colleges and Oniversity Auditoriwns and other placos of occasional assenwly, at least
one parking space for ~very ten seats, ezcept f.or reqularly established churches in
presently existinq locations on the ~Io n of the.passage of this code chaage", and
WHFRFAS, a study was made of existing parking facilities provided for by oth~r
church facilities througho~t sn+~+hern California, together with Code parking requirements
in other Orange County Citys, and
1NF~REAS, said study presented facts that a requirement of one parking space per five
seats was deemed necessary to provide adequate parking for church assembling, and
WHEREAS; a duly advertised public hearing was held by the Plar.~!.^.3 Gomaission of the
City of Anaheim on the 28th day of September, 1964, in the Council Chamber of the City
Hall to hear and consider evidence for and against said proposed addition to Title Eighteen
of. the Ma~ieim Idunicipa2 Code, and to investigate and make findings and recammendations
in connection therewithf and
WHEREAS, said Commissiony after due inspection, investigation, a~d study made by
itself and in its behalf9 and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offer2d
at. said hearings9 does find and determine that the p:~oosed amendment to Chapter Eightee~n
of the Anaheim Municipal Code is deemed necessary to adequately administer a policy of
the P1ar~ning.Commission requiring one parking spaca for every five seatso
NOW9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVm that the City Planning Commission recommends to the
City Council of the City of Maheim, the amendment of Title Eighteen, Chapter 18004
General Provisions, Use Parking Requirements by the deletion of "churches" in Chapter
18.04o030(b-5) and the addition of Section 18004o03Q(b-13), Churches as followse
"(13) CHURCHES, at ieast one parking space for every five seats, except for
regularly established churches in presently existing locations on the
effective date of this code change>"
