A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING CAMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHQM RE~MMENDING
'PO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of ANAHEIM THAT GENERAL PLAN AMENOMENT

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Maheim did adopt a General Plan by Resolution
No. f.3R-A69, showing the general description and extent of land uses and the Circulation
Element -Nighway.Rights-of-Way within the City, and indicating the prr:se~t belief of the
Council as to possible future development and re-development of the ia~d.within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall in
the ~ity of Maheim oo March 29, 1965, at 2:00 0'clock P.M.~ notice of e~id public hearing
I~aviag.been duly given as r.equired by law and in accordance with.the provisions af.the
Mahe3m Municipai Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said Amendment to
the General Plan, Circulation Element - Highway Rights-of-Way, proposing to .amend the collector
street designation of Richfield Road to a local street, and to investigate and make findings and ;
recommendations in coane.ction therewith; and .
WHEREAS, said Commission after due inspection, investigation, and study made by itself
and in its behalf,.and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said
hearing, DOES HEREBY FINO~
1. That the Orange County Water District has advised the Commission that their Body
has recently acquired 100 acr.es situated 400 feet east of Jefferson Street and southerly
of Walnut Street for water. spreading purposes.
2. That the street, by agreement with the Orange County Flood Control and Water
Districts~ terminates at the Santa Ma River, and no present or future plan for traversing
the river is contemplated.
3. That only the excavation of mineral resources is performed on the balance of the
property said collector street serves; therefore, little ozitside traffic would be utilizing
said.streat.
4. That the Traffic Engineer indicated that the antic9.pated traffic,demand could be
satisfied by a local street; and that La Palma Avenue, when extended, would pr.ovide ample
cirulcaticn, theraby negating.the.need for a collector street designation for Richfield Rcad..

dae.s.herehy secommend to the City Council.of the City of Anaheim..that..subject.General Plan
Amendment to the Circulation Element -Highway Rights-of-Way be approved on the basis of the
aforementioned.findings.

C.aromission that the designation of Richfield &oad for that partion lying_southerlx of Walnut
g}~eet and easterly of Jefferson Street, be deleted from the Orange County Master Plan of
Streets.and.Hig4ways, as a collector street..
