A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING ~MMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM RE~Mt~icPJDING
TO THE CITY CAUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM A STREET NAME CHADiGE FOR
DOWLING AV~NUE WITHIN THE ANAHEIM CITY LIh1ITS TO KRAF1v1ER $~-~' /,~j~~,L.-~ ~~~~
WHEREAS, in order to reduce confusion of different street names for one street
extending through several municipal and county jurisdictions, the Orange County Street
Naming Committee has determined that Carolina-Kraemer-Dowling-Glassell Streets should
be assigned the name of Kraemer Boulevard north of the Riverside Freeway and Glassell
Street south of the Riverside Freeway; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Street Naming Committee requested that the City of Brea
and the City of Anaheim set for public hearin9 consideration of a~~ame change for
Carolina and Dowling Avenues to Kraemer Boulevard north of the Riverside Freeway; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at ttie City
Hall in the City of Anaheim on December 5, 1966, at 2:00 0'clock P.M., notice of said
public hearing having been duly given as required by law, to hear and consider evidence
f~r and against said proposed conditional use and to investigate and make findings
and recanmendations in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due insNection, investigation, and study made
by itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports
offered at said hearing, does find and determine the following facts:
1. That ttie Anaheim Planning Commission on August 1, 1966, recommended
to the City Council that Dowling Avenue within the Anaheim City Limits
be renamed Kraemer Boulevard northerly of the Riverside Freeway.
2. That the Ci.ty Coun~il on August 23, 1966, concurred in the Planning
Commission's recommendation and forwarded said recommendation to
the Orange Couniy Street Naming Committee.
3. That because the off-rampsfor both Kraemer Boulevard and Glassell
Street northerly and southerly are at different locations, no
difficulty will be encountered in the signing of the Riverside
Freeway with both names.
4. That because there has been a minimum amount of industrial develop-
ment along Dowling Avenue, a change in street name at this time
would present no serious problem.
5. That two persons appeared in opposition, one of whom requested that
if a street is to. be assigned to this thoroughfare vahich traverses
the cities of Brea, Placentia, Anaheim, Orange, and Santa Ana, agree-
ment st~ould be reached to the assignment of one name for the street.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission does hereby rerommend
to the City Cour~cil of the City of Anaheim that Dowling Avenue within the jurisdiction of
the City of Anaheim be renamed Kraemer Boulevard at such time as jurisdictions northerly
of the Riverside Freeway agree to the street name change to Kraemer Boulevard.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council recommend to the City of Brea that
Carolina Avenue be renamed Kraemer Boulevard.
BE 3T FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council recommend to the City of Orange and
