1
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt a General Plan
by Resolution No. 63R-R69, showing the general description and extent of land
uses within the City and indicating the present belief of the Council as to
possible future development and redevelopment of land within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Pl:.nnin9 Commission of the City of Anaheim did receive
a verified Petition for Reclassification No. 66-67-14, which petition has
implications on policies as expressed on said General Plan; and
WHEREAS, in conjunction with the notice of the hearing on said Reclassi-
fication, notice was also given regarding the consideration of an amendment
to the General Plan in the general location and vicinity of subject property of
said reclassification; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City
Hall in the City of Anaheim on August 15, 1966, at 2s00 0'clack P.M.~ notice of
said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance
with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence
for and against said ainendment to the General Plan and said proposed Petition for
Reclassification to investigate and make findings and recommendations in connect-
ion therewith; and
WHeREAS, said Commission after due inspection, investigation, and study
made by itself and in its behalf and after due considerat~on of all evidence and
reports offered at said hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND
lo That evidence was presented at said hearing which justified the
City Planning Commissi~n's recommending to the City Council a
change in the present general description and extent of land uses
in those areas presently designated as the "Landscaped Buffer" area
alony arterial streets and highways within the City of Anaheim's
industrial areas.
2~ That the proposed amendment was deemed necessary based upon the
contention that tha use of the "Landscaped Buffer" symbol in the
industrial areas on the Anaheim Ge~eral Plan is unnecessary and
iends to make the document precise rather than general. Certain
setback and landscaping standards are required not only in industrial
areas, but commercial and residential uses as well; however, it has
not been the City's policy to illustrate a"Landscaped Buffer" ir,
conjunction with the commercial and residential symbols on the Plan.

NOW~ THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission of the
City of Anaheim does hereby recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim
that subject General Plan Amendment be approved on the basis of the aforementioned
findings~
