A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLAKNIIJ;, CAMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM THAT
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMEN'!' N0~ R2 BE APpROVED '
WHEREP.S, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt a G~neral Plan by
Resolution No. 63R-R69, shoN~ing the general description and extent of land uses within
the City and indicating the present belief of the Council as to possible future develop-
ment and redevelopment of land within the City; and
WHEREAS, the Hi9hway Rights-of-Way Circulation Element of the General Plan classifies
Riverdale Avenue as a secondary highway; and
WHEREAS, exceptions to this classification have been noted on developments within
the jurisdiction of the County of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the City Plannin9 Commission did hold a puhlic hearing at the City Hal.l
in the City of Anaheim on August 159 1966~ at 2s00 0'clock P.Mo, notice of said public
hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the provisions
of the Anahe?m Municipal Code~ to hea~ and consider evidence for and against said
Ame~dment to the General Plan - Highwa~~ Rights-of-Way, Circulation Element, and to
investigate and rnake findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commission after due ir. -~~ion, investigation~ and study made by
itself and in its behalf and afier due consi~eration of all evidence and reports offered
at said hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND
1. That the rnajority of the area under consideration is and has been under
the jurisdiction of the County of Orange.
2a That the County of Orange standard width for a secondary arterial highway
is FO feeta
3, That t~o tracts have been constructed, and other tentative tract maos
approved in this area with Riverdale Av?nue proposed and developed as
an 80 foot street.
4, That because of this deviation of the street width froin a standard
secondary hi.ghway it is deemed necessary to place Riverdale Avenue
on the Table of Exceptions of the Circulation Element - Highway Rights-
of-N'ay as established in Resolution No. 6111 dzted .Tune 28, 1960 and
amended in RPsolution No. 63R-350 dated November 5, i963.
5. That no one appeared in opposition to subject petition,
NOW THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim does hereby recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim tt~e zdoption
of General Plan Amendment No. 82 designating Riverdale Avenue from the Anaheim City
limits easterly to Taylnr Street as an exception on the Table of Exceptions as an
AO-foot wide secondary highway wit~ a standard 64 foot roadway, with the parkways
reduced frorn the standard 13 feet to 8 feet.
