WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission on .ianuary 3, 1968, considered a request for the
renaming of Lincoln .Avenue easterly of the Newport Freeway to iJc,hl Ranch Road; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission at said public hearing directed the staf: to set
for public hearing any street bearing the name "Nohl" within the ju~isdiction of the City of
Anaheim for possible street name change, in the event Lincoln Avenue was renamed Nohl Ranch
,r.. Road, in order to remove any duolicity of names in an area within the City; and

1 WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall in the
if City of Anaheim on January 29, 196$, at 2:00 0'clock P.Afi., notice of said oublic hearing having
%: been du~y given as reauired by law and in accordance with the orovisions of the Anaheim hiunicipal
i Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said prooosed street name change and to
~ , investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection therearith; and

~ WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, investigation, and study made by itsel:

i hearing, does find and determine the follovring facts:

I i 1. That dupiication in street names should be avoided in order to assist visitors
~i ~ and new residents :o ~he city in locating specific areas.
~ I 2. That the Planning Commission recommended that the street name `or Lincoln Avenue
~ should not be changed.

~ 3. That ihe Orange County Street i~laming Committee recommended that if 14oh1. Ranch
' Road was adopted as the name for the street alianment east of the Dleweort
~ Freeway presently known as Lincoin Avenue, that any street bearinq the name
~ of "Nohl" shouid also be changed.

~ NOW, THEREi•UkE, BE IT RESOLVED ttiat the City Plannina Commission does hereby recommend to
; the City Council o: the City of Anaheim that no street name chanoe take olace for ;Johl Canyon
~ Road, on the basis that the Corrimission has recommended that Lincoln Avenue shall also not be
r=named, therefore, no duplication of names would occur.
BE IT FIIRTHFR RESOLVID, that i.` the City Council deems it necessary to rename Lincoln
i Avenue to Dlohl Ranch Road that Nohl Canyon Road and any street bearing the name of "Alohl"
~ located in the hiLl and canyon area shall be renamed to remove any oossibility of duolication
of narnes.
