THAT PETITIOPI FOR VARIANCE N0. 2086 BE DENIED
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Aneheim did receive a verified Petiticn for Veriance fcom
BIG BOY EUCLID, INCORPORATED, 1001 East Colorado Street, Glendale, CaJ.ifuxr.ia 91!C5, Owner of
certain real property situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orang~, 5tatc of California,

WHEREAS, the City Plenning Commission ~id hold a public hearing et the City Hell in the City of Ar.u,hcin on
May 19~ 1969~ at 2:00 o'clock P.M., notice of seid public hearing having been duly given as req~aired 6y

and against said proposed variance end to investiga;e end meke findings end recommendations in connection thecewita;

WHEREAS, seid Ccmmission, after due inspection, investigetior, and study mede by ;i~EiE end in its behalf,
and efter due consideretion of ell evidence and teports offered at seid hearing, does find and uett,?nitne the fe[?.~wing

1. 'That the petitioner requests e variance from the Anaheim Mur.icioal Code as : ol lows, to permi ~ an
existing statue as a free-standing sign in conjunction with an existing restaurant:
a. SECTION 18.62.090(B-1) - Number of f_ee-standing siqns permitted. (2 permitted;
3 proposeo .
~ b. SECTION 18o62.U90(B-1) - Lo~ation of free-standinq siqn. (Separation distance of
- 300 feet from other free-standing signs reouired; separation
- distance of 38 feet from one free-standing sign, and 280
feet from anoth~r free-standing sign on the same property
proposed).
c. SECTION 18~62.090(B-?_) - Minimurr, ^ei4ht of a f'ree-si.andino siq~. (8-foot ground
clearance required to the base of the sign; 0-feet ground
clearance propesed).
2. That there are no exceptional or extraordinary circumstar.ces or conditions applicable
to the property involved or to the intended use of the property that do ro apply generally
to the property or class of use in the same vicinity and zone.
3. Thai ti~e requested variar.ce is not necessary for the preservation and enjoymer.: of a
substantial property right possessed by other ~roperty in the same vicinity and zone, and
denied to the pro~erty in question.
4. That the existing figure may be constTUed t~ be statuary ii the name is rar.oved from
the chest ;rea, and said statue relocated behind the buildinq setback line.
5. That no hardsl~ip had been proven that the existing l~cation of the figure w~s necessary
for propei identification of subject property.
