THAT PETITION FOR VARIANCE NO. 2084 BE GRANTED

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission oE the City of Aneheim did receive e verified Petitiort for Veriance
from ROYAL POOL; OF GARDEN GROVE, INCORPORATED, 870~ Garden Grove Boulevard, Garden Grove,
California 92641, Owner; JIM P~CE, ~ ROYAL POOLS OF GARDEN GROVE, INCORPORATED, 8702 Garden
Grove Boulevard, Garde~~ Grove, California 92641, Agent of certain real property situated in the
City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, described in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and referred to herein as though set forth in full.

WHEREAS, the City Plenning Commisr:ton did hold a public heering at the City Hall in the City of Aneheim
on May 19~ 1969~ at 2:00 o'clock P.M., notice of seid public hearing havieg been duly given es required
by law and in acwrdence with the provisions of the Maheim Municipal Code, Chapler 18.G8, to hear end consider evi-
dmce for end ageinst seid proposed varience anc to investigete end meke findings er.d recommendations in connection
therewith; end
WHEREAS, seid Commisslon, after due inspection, investigation, and study mede by itself end in its behelf,
end after due ~onsideretion of ell evidence and reports offere~ at seld hearing, does find end detecmine the [ollowing
fects:
1. Thet the petitioner requests e variance from the Aneheim Municipel Code as follows, to permit the
erection of a free-standing sign on subject prnperty:
SECTION 16.62.090(B-2) - Ma;cimum oermitted heiqht.(23 feet permitted; 50 feet
prop~sed). -
2. 1'het there are excepttonal or extceordinary circumstances or conditions eppliceble to the property involved
or to the intended use of the property thet do not epply generolly to the property or class of use in the same vicinity and
wne.
3. Thet the requeated veriance ia necessary for the preservation and enjoyment ot a substentiel property right
possessed by other property in the seme vicinity end zone, and denied to the property in question.
4. Thet tl~e requeated veriance will nat be meterially detrimentel to the public welfere or injurious to the prop-
erty or improvements in such vicinity and zone in which the property is located, s ince the s iqn wi 11 be oriented
away from the mc4ile home park.
5. That the location of the freeway off-ramp signs has complete:~ obliterated the
existing sign at its present height, and therefore, a hardship has been proven that the
50~foot sign was necessary.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED that the Anaheim City Planning Commission does hereby grant subject
Petition for Varience, upon the following conditions which are hereby found to be a necessary prerequisite to the pro-
posed use of the subject property in order to preserve the safety and general welfare of the Citizens ot the City of
Anaheim.
1. That subject property shall be developed substantially in accordance with plans
and specifications on file with th? City of Anaheim, marked Exhibit Nos. 2 and 3.
