PC 69-238! RESOLUTION N0. PC69-238
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING CAMMISSION OF TfiE CITY CF ANAHEIM
RECAMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEiM THAT
' GENERAL PLAN ANFNDMENT N0. 116 - CIRCULATION ELEMENT BE
APPROVED CLASSIFYING CORONADO STREET AS hV ItdDUSTRIAL
COLLECTOR STREET~ THERETO
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim's Highway Rights-of-Way Circulation Element presently
classifies Coronado Street between Blue Gum Street and Kraemer Boulevard as a local
street; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange Master Plan of Arterial Highways indicates Coronado
Street as a secondary arterial highway; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall
in the City of Anaheim on November 17, 1969 at 2:00 0'clock P.M~., notice of said public
hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the orovisions
or the Anaheim Kunicipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said
proposed general plan amendment, and to investigate and make findings and recommendations
in connection therewith; and
N;HEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, investigation, and study made
by itself and in its benalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports
offered at said hearing, does find and determine the follok~ing facts:
1. That the County's Master Plan of Arterial Highways wi11 be amended
following the upgrading of Coronado Street from a local street to
an industrial collector street by the City of Anaheim, thereby bring-
ing the Master Plan of Arterial S treets and liighways of both agencies
into conf~~rmance.
2. That upgrading Coronado Street to an industrial collector street is
warranted b~cause it provides through street access between two
secondary streets - Kraemer Boulevard and Blue Gum Street.
3. That traffic volumes are projected to average 5,700 vehicles per
day, which places the volume below that of a secondary highway, but
warrants upgrading it from a local street to a~i ir.dustrial collector
street.
4. ThaL• Coronado Street will have a 64-foot wide street with a 52-foot
roadway width which wi'_1 be sufficient for two travel lanes in each
direction.
NdN, TY,EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Pianning Commission of tha City of
Anaheim does hereby recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim ttiat General
Plan Amendment No. 116 be approved amending the Circulation Element - Highway Rights-
of-Way by designating Coronado Street as an industrial collector street, on the basis
of the foregoing findings.
