A RESOLUTIGN OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF 'fHE CITY OF MIAHEIM
RECOMMIIVDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM STREET
NAME CHANGE FOR GARLAND STREET TO SYMPHONY STREET THERETO
WHEREAS, two non-connecting streets in two ad.joining tracts located generally north
of Oran9ethorpe Avenue west of Kellogg Drive tiUve the same na~r~es which may present conLusion
to the City departments and the general public; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission on May 18, 1970 set for public hearing consideration
of a street name change for Garland Street running north-south in Tract No. 6561; and

UdHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hai1 in
1 ~~ the City of .;nahe~:~ on June 29, 1°°%0 at 2:00 0'cloc:k P.M., notice of said oublic hearing
s having bee~i duly given as required by law and in accordance with p:ovisions of the Anaheim
Municipal Code, to hear and consi.der evidenca for and against said proposed street name change
and to invE:tigate and :^~ke findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, investigation, ano study made by itseli
and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said
~ hearing, does f~nd and determine the following facts:
. 1. That the north-south street named Garland Street presently serves only one
'~c~r:Liy occupied house and will soon be exi:ended ir.to undeveloped rr:sidential
~. property to the south.
2. That tne east-west street named Garland Street provides access to 12 homes which
have been occupied for some time.
3. That the single property owner on the north-south street was contacted regarding
the conflict in names and su9gested that i:he street be named Symphony Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED tliat the Anaheim City Plannina Commission does adopt
and does hereby recommerid the adoption of a street name change from Garland Street ( ithin
!i Tract No. ~1) to Symphony Street to the City Counc~l on the basis of the foregoing findinos.
