A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMGNDING
TO TF1~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM THE ADOPTION OF
AREA QEVELOPMENT PLAN N0. 45
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Council at the tima Reclassification
No. 70-71-37 was considerAd by their Body expressed concern that Hilda
Street was rint being proposad to be extended £rom its present terminus
to Sunkist Street~ and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed staff to reac~vertise Area
Development Plan No. 45 in order that a public hearing could be held
to consider the necesaity and deairability oE ext:+nding Hilda Street
io Sunkist Streetj and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commieaion did hold a public hearing
at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on June 'l8, 1971, at 2:00 o'clock
P.M., notice of said public hearing having been duly given as required by
law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code
to hear and consider evidence for and against said proposed area develop-
ment plan and to investigate and make findings and zecommendations in
connection therewitht and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, investigation, and
study made by itself and in its behalf, and after due consid~ration of
all evidence and reports offered at said hearing, does find and deter-
mine the following facts:
1. That Area Develapment Plan No. 45 was considered in 196Ei i.n
conjunction with a proposal for R-3 aoning on a 7-acre parcel
located on the east side of Sunkist Street, approximately
200 feet nort.h of Ball Road, at which time both the area
development plan an3 the reclassification were denied by the
City Council.
2. That thP Planning Cammission and City Council recently
considered Rec.~.assification No. 70-71-37 on the same parcel
a£orementioned, at which time both the Planning Commission
and City Council denied the petition; however, the City
Council expressed concern that the proposed development did
not allow for the extension of Hilda Street from its present
terminus to SunY.ist Street.
3. Thati Exhibit "A" indicates a general alignment for the
extension of Hild: Street to Sunkist Street, and the
Planning Commission recognized the need for flexibility of
design and location in order to provide additional vehicular
circulation and accessibility within this residential area.
4. That all those homes south of Paladin Avenue located on
~elid Court, Whidby Lane, A.lki Place, and Hilda Street
presently have only one means of ingres~; and egress.
5. That the extension of Hilda Street from its prESent terminus
to Sunkist Street would appear to provida better traff~c
circulation through the area and would provide additional
access for fire ar.d emerqency vehicles.
