A RESOLUTION OF T1~1~ CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF TH~ CITY OF ANAHEIM
RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAIIEIM Tl~l~
ADOPTIUN OF A TRAVEL TRAILER PARK ORD:[NANC~ DY APPROVING
AN AMEI~AMENT TO TITL~ 18, OF THE ANA3~~IM MUNICIPAI~
CObF ADDING CHAP~ER 18.34, T13ERET0
WHER~AS, the City of Anaheim has eataUliehed travel trailer parka in
the City by tha enforcemant of Che State oE Cali£orn•la Travel TraiLer
Park r.equirementa; and
WH~REAS, travel trailer p~rks are eataUlished in the City of Anaheim
by the approv~al of a conditional Use Permit in which numerous conditions
and site development standards are generall,y impoaed; and
- WHEREAS, the Planning Commission after numeroua work sasaions and
review of the proposed ne~a chapter to Title 18, of the Anaheim Municipal
Code determined that a publlc hearing should be acneduled to conaider
said amendment; and

WHEREAS, the Ci.ty Plenning Commisaion did t~o13 a public hearing at
the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on December 28, 1970, January
~i~ 25, and February 22, 1971, at 2:00 o'clock P.M.~ noCice of said public
~,'; hearing having been duly given as xequired by law and in accordance
~`~ with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consi.der
:`Y~~ evidence for and againar said proposed Code addi.tion and to investigate
,,, and make findings and recommendat:Lona in connection therewith; and

,~,~ WHEREASy said Commission after due inapection, investigation,
:~ and study made by itself and in its behalf, and after due cunsideratlon
''~ of a11 evidence and r.eporta offered at said hearing, does find and
det~rmine the follcwing facts:
1. That the e~tablishment of Chis chapter in Che Zoning Code
~ would govern establishment of travel trailer parlcs, standard
;- conditions, site development atandards, and design criteria
J whict- would asaist proepective developera, the Planning
~ Commission, City Council, and ata£f in their consideration
'~ af of petitions foz approval to establish said parks in the
City of Anaheim.
2. That travel trailer parks are land uses similar in function
to motels, inasmuch as both are designed for housing of recrea-
tional travelers and visitors, and should be establiahed in
a light commercial zone as well as the R-A,, 2one where appropriate.
3. That site development standards ~s•c de~emed essential to control
the environment for the visitors of saYd oark, as well as
making them more compatible witt~ the surrounding uses.
4. That screening ~f travel trailer p~rks is determined to be
necessary to protect the park visitors from the noise, dust,
and odor of motor vehicles traveling along public streets
ad~acent to said parks.
5. That no minimum lot size was established in order that developers
might have considerable latitude in a desired mix of lot sizes
to acr_ommodate various size recreational vehicles in a travel
trailer nark.
b. That two persons appeared representi.ng the travel trailer
industry to submit comments and suggested changes to the
nroposed ordinance.

Commisaion does hereby adont and recommend to the City Council of
the City of Anaheim the adoption of a Travel Trailer Park Ordinance
by the addition of Chapter 18.34y to Title ~8, of the Anaheim Munici.pal
