A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM RECOMMENDING
TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDMENTS TO TITLE EIGHTEEN OF
THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDITIONS TO CHAPTER 18.04, GENERAL,
AND AMENDMENT TQ CHAPTER 18.64, CONDITIONAL USES, THERETO
WHEREAS the Ci.ty Planning Commission did hold a public hearing in con-
nection with Conditional Use Permit No. 7.382 wherein a request was made for permis-
sion to store Class "C" explosives in the Dt-1 Zone, and
WHEREAS, said Commission, afCer due consideration of all evidence and re-
ports offered at the hearing on Conditional Use Permit No. 1382, does find and de-
termine the following in regard to Class "C" explosives in general:
1. That Class "C" explosives in quantities of 20 pounds or less present no greater.
hazard than flamable liquids or chemicals commonly found in a residence.
2. That due to the relative low degree of hazard of C~.ass "C" explosives in quan-
tities of 20 pounds or less, it would appear that the public inter~st would be served
to permit such quantities as a matter of right in any zone;
3. That quantities of more than 20 pounds of Class "C" explosives should be categor-
ized similarly to.Class "A" and Class "B" explosives and the storage or use thereof
should be considere~ under the condiCional use permit procedure in the appropriate
zones.
NOW, THEREPORE, BA IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Conanission of the
City of Anaheim does hereby recorunend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim Ehe
amendment of Title Eighteen of the Anaheim Municipal Code as follows:
ADD: "Section 18.04.150 The storage of Class "C" explosives
may be permitted in any zone sub-
ject to the conditions contained
in the Uniform Fire Code but in no
event shall such storage exceed
20 pounds."
AMEND: Section 18.64.020(4e) to read: "Explosive, storage of Class "A"
and "B" and stor.age of Class "G"
in excess of 20 pounds."
