A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
THAT PET[T(ON FOR VARIANCE N0. 2505 BE GRANTED IN PART
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Maheim did receivc a verified Petition for Variance from
PACIFIC PLAN INVESTOR'S FUND NG. 1, 2200 Sandhill Road, Menlo Park, California 94Q25,
Owner; PACIFIC PLAI1, 1570 East 17th Street, Santa Ana, California 92701, Agent of cer-
tain real property situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of Califor-
nia, ~lescribed as The East half of the Southeast quarter of the Southweat quarter of
SecEi7.n 13, Township 4 Scuth, Range 10 West in the Rancho San Juan Cajon de Santa Ana,
as shown on a Map recorded in Book 51, page 10 of Miacellaneoua Maps, records of Orange
County, California. Excepting Che North 665.00 feet. Also excepting the Southerly
203.00 feet of the Easterly 265.00 feet thereof. AP ~~253-081-18; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Maheim on
May 14, 1973, at 2:00 a'clock p.m., notice of said public hearing having been duly givsn as royuireQ by law and
in accordance with the provisions of the Maheim Municipai Code, Chapter 18.68, to heaz and codsider evidence for and against said
proposed variance anfl to incestigate and make findings and recommendations in connection the rewith; and
WHERE~Li, said Commission, after due inspection, investigation, and study made by iuelf and in its behalf, and after due
cunsideration of ail evidence and reports offered at said hearing, does find and determine the following facts:
1. That the petition=r rcquests: theu,following variances , from the Anaheim Municipal Code: '

one 12 square foot free-atanding sign propoaed)

c. SF.CTION 18.62.130(B) - Permitted flags and banners. (Display of flags
and banners up Co three flaga and bannera of
nation, atate, political subdivision, religious
or fraternal organization permitted; advertising

2. That Waiver 1-a, above mentioned, is hereby granCed on the basis that subject
property hae fronteges on two arterial highways and the propasal to have identification
on both streets ia a reeaonable request.
3, That Waiver 1-b, above mentioned, ia hereby granted on the basis that the pro-
posed signs are small directional aigns advertising the location of the rentai office
and should not be objectionable.
4, ThaC Waiver 1-c, above mentianed, is hereby denied on the basis that approval
of an advertising flag would establish an undesirable precedent encouraging other apart-
ment complexes throughout the City to request similar advertising flags.

5. That there are exceptional or extraordinary circumstances or• conditions ~
applicable to the property invol°'ed or t.o the intended use of the property, as granted,
that do not apply generally to the prcperty or class of use in the same vicinity and
zone.
6. That the requested variance, as granted, is necessary for the preservation
and enjoyment of a subrctantial prop~erty right possessed ty other property in the same
vicinity and zone, and denied to the property in quest-ion.
7, That the requested variance, as granted, will :ot be materially detrimental
to the public welfare or injur3ous to the property or improvements in such vicinity and
zone in which the property ie located.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT PINDING:
That the Planning Co~isaion, in connection with an Exemption Declaration Status re-
quest, finds and determines that the proposal wauld have no significant environmental
impact and, therefore, reco~nends to tha City Council that no Environmental Impact
Statement is necessary.
NOW, TH~~E~~$~~ BE IT RESOLVED that the Anaheim Cily ?2annir.o Commission does
hereby grant/sub ect Petition for Variance, upon the following conditiona wP~icii are
hereby found to be a necessary prerequisite to the proposed use of the subject prop-
erty in order to preaerve the safety and general welfare of the Citizene of the City
of Anaheim:
(1) That subject property shall be developed subatantially in accordance with
plens and specifications on file with the City of Anaheim marked Exhibit Nos. 1 and 2.
