A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
ADOPTING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
ADOPTION OF ANAHEIM GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT N0. 134 - SCENIC HIGHWAY ELEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt a General °lan
by Resolution No. 69R-644, showing the general description and extent of land
uses within the City and indicatinq the present belief of the Council as to
possible future development and redevelupment of land within the City; and
WHEREAS, a Scenic Highway Element of the Anaheim General Plan is required and,
pursuant to California Government Code Section 65302(h), said Element shall provide
for the development, establishment and protection of scenic highways; and
WHEREAS, the State of California adoption deadline for the Scenic Highway
Element is September 20, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission did hold a pub'lic hearing in
the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on August 19, 1974, at 2:00 p.m „ notice of
said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accorda~ce
with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence
for ard against said Amendment to the Anaheim General Plan, and to make findings
and recommendations in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commission after due inspection, investigation and study made
by itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and
reports offered at said hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND:
1, That evidence was presented at said pub'iic hearing which substantiates
the Planning Commission's recommending to the City Council the amend-
ment of the Anaheim General Plan by the establishment of a valid
Scenic Highway Element;
That the Scenic Highway Element provides the basis for the pre-
paration of specific scenic corridor plans and although said
Element is not a scenic highway corridor study it would provide for
such studies by the City of Anaheim; and
3. 7hat the City of Anaheim's adopted Scenic Corridor Uverlay Zone has
been considered in the proposed Element relative to any futurs corridors,
and various implementation techniques, as well as the City's objectives
and policies on scenic routes, are listed as guides for any 'future scenic
route consideration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLUED that the Anaheim City Planning Commission
recommends to the City Council that the subject document be exempt from the
requirement to prepare an Environmental Impact Report pursuant to the provisions
of the California Environmental Quality Act.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Anaheim City Planning Commission does hereby
adopt and recommend to the City Council adoption of Anaheim General Plan Amendment
No. 134 as the Scenic Highway Element of the Anaheim General Plan, on the basis of
the aforementioned findings and in accordance with "Exhibit A."
