A RESOLUTiON OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM TNAT
ANAHEIM GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT N0. 136 BE APPROVED
'.dHEREAS, the City Council of the CiYy of Anaheim did adopt the Anaheim Gener~l
Plan by Resolution No. 69R-644, showing the general descriptiun and extent of land
uses a~ithin tfie City and indicating the present belief of the Council as Yo possible
future development and redevelopment of land within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim did receive a
veri'ried request to establish an agricultural preserve on property located at
1854 South Harbar Bo~levard in the City of anaheim; and
blHEREAS, under the current Anaheim General Plan there are no specific provisions
for agricultural or open space uses of land and, therefore, no appropriate method
to implement same; and
WHEREAS, the proposed agricultural preserve request was referred to the City
Council on September 17, 19%4 and subsequently, was referred to the City Planning
Commission for review and recommendation, and on October 14, 197~ the City
Planning Commission directed Staff to proceed with preparation of a General Plan
Amendment to accommodate the proposed preserve; a~d
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing in the City
Hall in the City of Anaheim on November 11, 1974 at 2:00 p.m., notice.of said
public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with
the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for
and against said Amendment to the Anaheim General Plan, to investigate and to
make findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commission ~fter due inspection, investigation and study made
by itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and
reports offered at said public hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND that the following
specific language should be added to the text of the current Anaheim General
Plan and in particular to Page 6- Elements of the Plan - Planning Area A;
and Page 64 - Planning Area B:
"The City of Anaheim has a Residential Agricultural Zone which
provides for agricultural and open space uses until properties
are developed fnr more urbanized or intensive uses. It is
intended that this usage be aliowed to implement agricultural
preserves in the City."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission of the City
of Anaheim does hereby recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim that
the subject Anaheim General Plan Amendment No. 136 be approved on the basis of the
aforementioned findings.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this 11 h November,
