RESOLUTION N0. PC74-226

RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDMENT
TO ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE, TITLE 18, ZONING, REPEALING,
AMENDING 6ND ADDING CERTAIN CHAPTERS
WtIEREP.S, during the recodification of the Anaheim Municipal Code, it
became apparent that certain provisions of Chapter 18.80 of said Code had
become antiquated and possibly invalid and, additionally, that "special
exception" areas wherein regulations differ from the standards of the under-
lying zone district are legally questionable, at best, and further complicate
the administration of the Zoning Code; and
T,THEREAS, in the absence of floor area standards for most single-family
residential zones, ahd the state of development of the specific areas des-
cribed in Chapter 18.80, regulations for the contr.ol of floor areas within
these areas were considered ner.essary at the time of their adopt:lon in order
to asaure the compatibility of new dwellings with existing dwellings within
these areas and in keeping with the character of said areas; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the
City Hall in the City of Anaheim on November 11, 1974, at 2:00 p.m., notice
of said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in
accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and
consider evidence for and against- said proposed amendment and to investigate
and make findings and reco~endations in connection therewit'h; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, investigation, and study
made by itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence
and reports offered at said hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND AND DETERMINE that the
following amendments to the Anaheim Municipal Code are appropriate:
1. Repeal Chapter 18.80 "Floor Space Requirements in Specific
Areas" in its entirety.

Flour Space" and add a new Section 18.20.030(4)(d) as per
the following:

The minimum livable ground floor area of any one-
family dwelling shall be not less than seventeen
hundred (1700) square feet exclusive of any garage

R-E 1$.18.030(10)
R-1 18.24.030(6)
RS-5000 18.26.050(4)(a)
Said subsections to all read as follows:
"Minimum Floor Area Per Dwelling. The minimum
livable floor area of any one-family dwelling
shall be not less than twelve hundred and twenty-
five (1225) square feet exclusive of any garage
