A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
THAT PETITiON FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT ~ 4~ BE DEtQIED
VlHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim did receive a veriiied Petition for Con-
ditianalUsePermitfrom ALFRED L. CAkU50, M.D. 1491 East La Palma Avenue, Anaheim, California
92805, Owner; BOB OVERMAh, 2227 South Bristol Street, Santa Ana, California 92704, A9ent•
of cer*.ain real property situateo in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange~ State of
California as described in Exhibit "A" attach=d hereto and referred to lierein as though
set forth in full
; and
WHEREAS, the City Plenning Commission did hold a public hearing at the CityHell in the City of Anaheim
on Ja~uary ], i 974, et 2:00 o'clock P.M., notice of said public hearing heving been duiy given
as cequiced by law and in accordence with the provisions of the Meheim Municipel code, Chepter 18.64,to hear
artd consider evidence for end agvinst said ptoposed conditional use and to investigate nnd make findings and
recommendations in connection thecewith; end
WHEREAS, said Commission, efter due inspection, investiqation, end study made by itself and in its br
helf, and after due consideretion of all evidence and ceports ofEered et seid heacing, does find and determine the
following facts:
1. That the pcoposed use is propecly one for which e Conditional. Use Permit is authorized by Code Section
18.64.020(2)(e), to wit: establish an ambulance service in an existing medical building.
2. That the proposed use would be in close tieroximity to three schools and two
churches, and immediately adjacent to single-family and multiple-family reaidential
uses; therefore, it was determined the proposed use was not appropriate and/or suitable
at the proposed location.
3. That due to the location of a traffic signal at La Palma Avenue and Acacia Street,
it was determined that the drivers uf the ambulances would be prompted to u~ie their sirena
f:requently at said intersection, thereby generating a high degree of noise and disturbance..
to the schools, churches and c~urrounding resideatial areas, aa well as creating a traffic
hazard for school children in Che area.
4. That thexe present2y exists a similar service within one (1) mile of the proposed
location.
5. That it was daCermined Chat the proposed ambulance service would be available to
the general public, as we12 as to service tf~e projected 5,000 patients wHo utilize the
medical facility at Che proposed location, and the number of calls £ot ambulance serv;.ce
could ,~eZl be expected to average one (1) call. per hour on a 24-hour basis.
6. T[tat the proposed use would be inconsi.atent with the intent o£ the original re-
corded C-1 deed restrictions on subject property, which limited the uses to proiessional
and business offices with a phannacy.
7, ThaC the petitioner iiled a letCer signed by 19 sree residents indicating endorse-
ment of 1:he proposed use.
