A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
FINDING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
TF1AT THE PROPOSAL TO ESTABLISH A 58-ACRE AGRICULTURAL
PRESERVE AT 1854 SOUTH HARBOR BOULEVARD IS IN
CONFORMANCE WITH TtiE ANAHEIM GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the property owner of a 58-acre parcel located at 1854 South
Harbor Boulevard in the City of Ana'heim requested said parcel to be established
as an Agricultural Preserve in order to preserve the land for future public sale
and continue the existing agricultural enterprise on the property; and
WHEREAS, on November 11, 1974, the Planning Commission recommended
approval of General Plan Amendment No. 136, proposing to add specific language
to the Anaheim General Plan providing for the establishment of agricultural
preserves in the City, which was subsequentiy adopted by the City Louncil on
December 24, 1974; and
WHEREAS, under the Williamson Act (California Land Conservation Act of
1965)> which is the State legislation enabling contractual agreements for
Agricultural Preserves~ an agricultural preserve of less than 100 acres may .
be established, provided, in part, that the Planning Commission and City
Council of the city in which the property is situate finds that such a Froposal
is consistent with the City's General Plan and that crops on the property•
are agriculturally unique,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission of the
City of Anaheim does hereby find and recommend to the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the proposal to establish a 58-acre Agricultural Preserve
on'property located at 1854 South Harbor Boulevard is consistent with the
Anaheim General Plan, that tiie crops on the property are agriculturally unique
and, therefare, said Agricultural Preserve should be officially established.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this 6th day of
January, 1975. ~
