A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNlNG C011MISSION OF THE C~TY OF ANAHEIM
RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIPI THAT
GENERAL PLAN AM~NDMENT N0. 137 BE APPtZOVED.
WHEREAS, the City Council of :he City of AnaheJm ~id adopt the Anaheim General
Plan by Resolution No. 69R-644, showing the general description and extent of
land uses within the City and indicating the present belief of the Council as to
possible future development and redevelopment of land within the City; and
WHEREAS, in connection with the granting of an extension of time for
Reclassification No. 71-72-18 and the advent of surplus school site property for
sale, totalling approximately forty-one (41) acres, and having implications on
policies expressed or~ said General Plan, the City Council directed that a general
plan amendment be prepared to explore alternate land use designations for the
area; and
WNEREAS, notice was given regarding the consideration of amendment to the
Anaheim General Plan in the general location and vicinity of the subject property,
being approximately forty-one (41) acres gener•ally bounded by Broadway on the
north, Loara Street on the west, the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way on
the east, and the terminus of both Gilmar Street and Gil':uck Drive on t!:a south;
and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City
Hall in the City of Anaheim on January 6, 19i5, at 2:90 p.m., notice of said
public hearing having been duly given as reGuired by law and in accordance with
the provi='tons of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and constder evidence for
and against<said Amendment to the Anaheim General P1?n to investigate and make
findtngs and recommendations in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commission after due itispection, investigation, and study made
by itself and in its behalf and after due consideration of all evidence and reports
offered at said hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND
1. That evidence was presented at said hearing wliich justifies the CYty
Planning Commission rec.ommending to the City Council a change in the
present general description and extent of land uses in the subject
area, described as follows:
A rectangularly-shaped parcel of land consisting of approximately
forty-one (~al) acres, generally fiounded by B~oadway on the north,
Loara Street on the west, the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way
on the east, and the termirt~s of both Gilmar Street and Gilbuck Drive
on the south~.
2. That "Exhibit A" cf General Plan Amendment P~o. !37 does constitute an
acceptable ailternative to current policies, as illustrated on the
Anaheim Gene:ral Plan. "Exhibit A" proposes medium density residential
uses on approximately the northerly half of the Study Area, with the
southerly ii~alf designated, from north to south, for low-medtum and low
density res7dential uses.
NOW, THEREFORE, 19E IT RESOLVED that Environmental Impact Report No. 13E,
having been considereii this date by the Planning Comrr+ission and evidence, both
writCen and oral, having been presented to supptement said draft EIR, the Planning
Commission believes tliat said draft EIR does conform to the City and State
Guidelines and the 5t+ate of California Em~ironmental Qualiry Act and, based upon
such infarmation, does hereby recommend to the City Council that they certify satd
EiR is in r,~:~pliance ~r+ith said Envtronmental Qualtty Act.

II BE IT FU~THER RESOIVED that the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim
does hereby recommend to the City Council of the City of A~aheim that General
I Plan Amendment No. 137 be approved on the basis of the foregoing ftndings, and~
in accordance with "Exhibit A'~ on file in the Office of Development Services.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me thi 6th day of January,
