A RESOLIITION OF THE AIJAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
ADOPTItJG AtJD RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM A~OPTIO~! OF AN AME~~DMENT TO THE LArJD USE ELEMENT OP THE
GENERAL PLA~~, DESIGNATED AS AMEtJDMENT N0. 167 - EXHIBIT "A~~
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt the Anaheim
General Plan by Resolution No. G9R-644, showing the general description and extent of
possible future development within the City; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the request from the Anaheim Union High School District
for a General Plan Amendment study, CTty staff prepared a General Plan Amendment for
an area consisting of approximately 6.17 acres located between Lincoln Avenue,
Broadway, Harbor Boulevard and Citron Street; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department deemed it appropriate, pursuant to the
provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act, to preoare Environmental
Impact Report No. 243 in connection with the General Plan Amendment for the foregoing
area under consideration; and
41HEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commtsston did hold a public heartng at
the Anaheim Civic Center, Council Chamber, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard~ on January
25, 1932~ at 1:3~ p.m., notlce of said public hearing having been duly aiven as
required by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim Munici~al Code.
to hear and consider evidence for and against said Amendment to the Anaheim General
Plan and to investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection
therewiih; and said public hearing having been continued to the meeting of February
22, 1932; and
WIfEP,EAS~ said Commisston, after due constderation, inspectton, investigation
and study made by itself~ and after due consideration of all evidence and reports
offered at said hearing , DOES HEREBY FIND:
1. That evidence was presented which substantiates the need for an
emendment to the Anaheim General Ptan~ and it is deemed appropriate that "Exhibit "h"
be adopted, designating the entire area for Low-Medium Density Residential land uses.
NOW~ THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that after considering Environmental Impact
Report No. 24a for General Plan Amendment No. 167 for designation of the Fremont
Junior High School site for Laa-Medtum Density Residential land uses~ and reviewing
evidence, both written and oral, presented to supplement EIR No. 248, the Planntng
Commission finds EIR No, 248 is in compliance with the Caltfornia Environmental
Quality Act and with City ard State EIR Guldelines; and that ootential enviranmental
impacts can be reduced to an insignificant level by conformance ~vith City plans,
policies and ordinances; and therefore, based upon such information~ the Anaheim City
Plannin9 Commission does hereby recommend to the City Counctl that Environmental
Impact No. 2A8 be certified.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, pursuant to the foregoing findings. the Anaheim
Clty Plann3ng Commission does hereby adoot and recommend to the CftY Councii of the
City of Anaheim adoption of General Plan Amendment No, 167, Exhibit "A",
