CONDITIONAL ~SE PERMIT NO. 1564
EXPANDING THE USE OF AN ~XISTING RECREATIONAL FACILITY
WHEREAS, Condi.tional Use Permit No. 1564 to permit an outdoor
reoreational center on ML zoned property located at the southwest corner of
Carpenter Avenue and ShephPrd Street was granted by the City Council on
October 14, 1975 (Resolution No. 75R-534) following recommendation for denial
by the Planning Commi~sion; and
WHEREAS, on March 16, 1982, following a public heacinq to review
revised plans, the City Council granted Resolution No. 82R-14fi amending
Conditional Use Permit No. 1564 to include the proposed construction of a
roller slide, subject to the conditions that an attendant shail be stationed
at the top of the :,lide at all times during operation to regulate the use and
control the number of patrons using the facility; and that a qualified
lifeguard shall t>e in attendance at the pool deck at all times during
operation and sha].1 render aid in case o£ an accident or injury.
WHEREAS, the petitioner has requested approval under authocity of
Code Section 18..61.050.360 to permit an outdoor soccer field in c~njunction
with the existing recreational facility; and
WHEREAS, it was noted an EIR Negative Declaration was previo~isly
approved on October 14, 1^75 in conjunction with Conditional Use Permit No.
1564; and
WHEREAS, tl~e Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the
Anaheim Civic Center, Council Chamber, 200 S. AnahAi.m Boulevard, Anaheir, cn
May 2, 1983, at 1:30 p.m., notice of said public hearing having been duly
qiven as requi.red by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim
Municipal Cnde, to hear and consider evidence fer and against said request and
to~investigate and make findings and recommEndations in connection therewith;
and
WHEREAS, the Commission, after due insp~ction, investigation and
study made by itself at said public hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND:
1. That the additional use as an outdoor soccer field shall be
9ranted for a period of one year only, with petitioner being
required to reapply for a new permit at the end of thst one year
period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AESOLVED that, pursuant to the foregoing
findings, the Anaheim City Planning Commission does hereby recommend that the
City Council grant an additional use in connection with said conditiunal use
permit, upon L•he following additional conditiors which are found to be a
necessary prerequisite to the propoced use of the subject property in order to
preserve tl~e :,~fety and general welfare of the Citizens of the City oE Anaheim;

1. That subject property shall be developed substantialJy in accordance
with plans and specifications on file with the City of Anaheim mzrked
Exhibit Nos. 1 and ?, including the provision for a total of 131
parking spaces.
2. That prior to final building and zoning inspections, Condition No. 1,
above-mentioned, shall be complied with.
3. mhat the• additional use of an outdoor soccer field in conjunction
with an existing recreational facility is granted for a period of one
year to expire on May 1, 1984.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Anaheim City Planning Commission does
hereby find and determine that adoption of this Resolution is expressly
predicated upon applicant's compliance with each and all of the conditions
hereinabove set forth. Should any sunc ~onditions, or any part thereof, be
declared invalid or unenforceab'_e by the final judgment of any court of
competent jurisdiction, then tais Resolution, and any appcovals herein
contained, shall be deemed null and void.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTZON is signed and approved by me this 2nd day of
