GAZETTE, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed published and circulated weekly, on
Thursdays, in said County of Orange, and which
newspaper is published for the dissemination of
local news and intelligence of a general character,
and which newspaper at all the times herein
mentioned had and still has a bona fide subscrip-
tion list of paying subscribers, and which news-

. ORDINANCE NO. 753
AN ORDINANCIR OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM APPROVING THE AN-
NEXATION TO THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM OF THE TERRITORY
KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS
-SOUTH LOS ANGELES STREET
ANNEXATION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS.
SECTION 1: That the City Council
of the City of Anaheim did on the
lath day of January, 1950, receive a
written petition asking that certain
new and uninhabited territory de-
scribed in said petition be annexed
to the City of Anaheim.
That said territory . proposed to be
I annexed to said City of Anaheim is
situated in the County of Orange,
State of California, and is contiguous
to .the City of Anaheim and is un-
iilliabited territory. That petition
' contained a description of said terri-
tory in words and figures as herein- I
after in this Ordinance described.
i That the City Council duly assem-
bled at..a, regular meeting of said City
Council held on the 10th day of Jan-
uary, 1950, did find that said petition
at -the time it was filed g,nd received
was signed by the owners of not less
than one-fourth of the area of the land
In. such territory and represented not
le4s than .one-fourth of the assessed
value of said territory proposed to be `
annexed according to the last preced-
bg equalized assessment roll of the
County of Orange, State of California,
in which said territory is situated
AW that maid territory did not form a
part of any municipal corporation and
did find that said territory is contig-
uous to the City of Anaheim and is
uninhabited territory.
That on the 10th day of January,
1950, at a regular meeting of said
City Council of the City of Anaheim,
Resolution No, 1718 was duly passed
and adopted specifically describing
' the boundaries of the territory so
proposed to be annexed to the City
,of Anaheim and designating such ter-
ritory as South 'Los' Angeles Street
Annexation, and giving notice of such
annexation and fixing .the 14th day
of February, 1950, at the hour of 8:00
o'clock P.M. at the City Council
Chambers in the City Hall in the '
.City of Anaheim, as the day, hour and
Place when and where any person
owni-ng real property within such
territory so proposed to be annexed

aninexation might appear before the
City Council of the City of Anaheim
and show cause why such territory
should not be so annexed and noti-
fying all persons having .objections to
such' proposed annexation to appear

cause, if any they had, why such
territory should not be annexed to
the City of Anaheim and directing
the City Clerk to publish or cause to
be published a copy Of said Reso-
lution at least once a week for two
successive weeks prior to February
14, 1950, in the Anaheim Bulletin, a
newspaper of general circulation,
published in. the City .of Anaheim,
County of Orange, State of California.
That said .Resolution was caused to
be published by said City Clerk in
said Anaheim Bulletin as directed.
That on the hour, day and at the
Place specified in said Resolution
No,- 1718, torr,. on the 14th day of
Feliruary, 1950, at the hour of 8:001
o'clock P.M. in the City Council
Chambers in the City Hall in the City
of Anaheim, California, the. City
Council of the City of. Anaheim did
meet and assemble and proceed to
hear and pass on all protests. That
written protests were not made by
the owner or owners of one-half of
the value of the territory proposed ' to
be annexed. according to the last
pqualized. assessment roll of We Coun-
ty of Orange, State of California.
SECTION 2: That the annexation
of the territory included within boun-
daries . of the South Los Angeles Street
Annexation and more particularly de-
scribed as follows, to -wit:
A tract of land including a por-
tion of Lot 25 of Anaheim Exten-
sion, .as shown on a map of a sur-
vey made by William Hamel in
1868 and filed in Look 3, pages
162-164 of Maps, Records of Los
Angeles County, also a portion of
South Los. Angeles Street, other-
wise known as U. S. Highway- 101,
a portion. Qf East Vermont Ave-
nue (tormerly Broad Street) and
a portion of South Olive Street
also kno*n as the Southern Pa -
chic Railroad right-of-way, in
the . County of Orange, State of
C41ifornia, and more particularly -
described as follows:
Beginning at the corner of the
present city. limits of the City of
Anahelm ' objhe northerly line of
East Vermdht Avenue. and' the
steely W . South Olive .Streit;'

the City of Anaheim, held on . the
14th day of February, 19.50,. and that
the same was passed and adopteii at
a regular meeting .held on the 28th

purposes a part of the City of Anahei%.
SECTION 4: T#e City Clerk shall certify to the passage of th
Ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the Anaheim
Gazette, a ne*spaper, printed, published and circulated in
the City of Anaheim,; County of Orange, State of California, and
thirty ( 30) days frog and after final c t.oii it shall be
in full force and e4f ec t .
