A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
ADOPTING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCfL ADOPTIOhJ OF
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT N0. 349 PERTAINING TO THE IAND USE ELEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt the Anaheim General Plan
by Resolution No. 69R~44, showing the general descriptlon and extent of possible future development
within the City; and
WHEREAS, Planning Commission directed siaff to inftiate an amer.dment to the Land
Use Element of the General Plan to redesignate Areas 1, 2 and 3, hereln~described~ from'General
Industrial` (Area 1 and a portion of Area 3) and'Medium Densiry Residential' (Area 2 and a portion of
Area 3) to "General Commercial '
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission did hdd a public hearing at the
Anaheim CNic Center, Council Chamber, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard, on May 28, 1997, at 1:30 p.m.,
notice of said public heacing having been duly gNen as requirod by law and in accordance wfth the
provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear ar-d consider evidence for and against said General
Pfan Amendment and to investigate and make flndings and recommendations in connection therewfth;
and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due conskJeratior., Inspect~on, irnestigation and
study made by itself, and after due consideration of all evWence and reports offered at said hearfng,
dces hereby find:
1. That subject properties consist of three areas totaling approximately 11.5 acres and
located on ihe east side of Brookhurst Street between the I-5/Santa Ana Freeway and Crescent Avenue,
and more specifically desc~ibed as:
Area i: Approximately 4.58 acres, having approximate frontages of 520 feet on the east side of
Brookhurst Street ar~ 85 fset on the west side of Valley Street, and located approximately 570
feet north of the centertina of Gramercy Avenue, and fuRher described as 850 North Brookhurst
Street.
Area 2: Approximate~y 4.69 acres, located at the southeast comer of Gramercy Avenue and Brookhurst
Street, having aFproximate frontages of 730 feet on the souch side of Gramercy Avenue and 430
feet on the east side of Brookhurst Street, and further describec! as 6Q0-626 North Brookhurst
Street
Area 3: Approximatety 2.27 acres, located at the northwest comer of Crescent Avenue and Valley Street,
having approximate fron4ages of 730 feet on the north side of Crescent Avenue and 250 feet on
the west s(de of Valley Street, and further described as 2141-2171 West Crescent Avenue.
2. That the three areas are developed with the fdiowing uses: self-starage faciliry in
Area 1, industrial buildings and vacant land (former Ctry Yard) in Area 2, and Fire Station No. 2, a water
well and a street sweeping yard In Area 3.

3, That the evidence presentec! substantiates the need for an amendment to the Anaheim
~eneral Plar. . r~ that, tharefore, Exhibit A should be adopted redesignating subjec~ area for land uses.
4. That r~o one appeared at the ~!~b8c hearing in opposftion to the proposal.
