Resolution-PC 99-67RESOLUTION NO. FC99-67 A RESOLUTlON OF THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION ADOPTING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 362 PERTAINING TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt the Anaheim General Plan by Resolution No. 69R-644, showing the general description and extent of possible fu:ure development within the City; and WHEREAS, Planning Commission did direct staff to initiate an amendment ta the Land Use Element of the General Plan to re-designate an irregularly-shaped 18.3-acre property located at the northwest corner of La Palma Avenue and Weir Canyon Road, with frontages of 1,643 feet on the north side of La Palma Avenue and 810 feet on the west side of Weir Canyon Road (8200 East La Palma Avenue), from the Hillside Low-Medium Density Residential and General Commercial land use designations to the Commercial Professional land use designation; and WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission did hold a pubiic hearing at the Anaheim Civic Center, Council Chamber, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard, on April 26, 1999, at 1:30 p.m., notir.e of said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said General Plan Amendment and to investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and WHEREAS, said Commission, after due consideration, inspection, investigation and study made by itself, and after due consideration of ail evidence and repo~ts offered at said hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND: 1. That the evidence presented at the public hearing substantiates the need for an amendment to the Anaheim General Plan and that, therefore, Exhibit A should be adopted to re-designate subject area for Commercial Professional land uses. 2. That three people indicated their presence at the pubiic hearing in opposition to the proposal; and that correspondence was received in opposition. CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT FINDING: That the Anaheim City Planning Commission has reviewed the proposal to amend the Land Use Element of the General Plan to change the current land use designation of an irregularly-shaped 16.3-acre property located at the northwest corner of La Palma Avenue and Weir Canyon Road with frontages of 1,643 feet on the north side of La Palma Avenue and 810 feet on the west side of Weir Canyon Road (8200 East La Palma Avenue) from the Hillside Low-medium Density Resldential and General Commercial land use designations to the Commercial Professional land use designation; and does hereby approve the Mitigated Negative Declaration upon finding that it has considered the Mitigated Negative Declaration together with any comments received during the public review process and fu~ther finding on the basis of the initial study and any comments received that there is no evidence that the project will have a significant effect on the environment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, lhat pursuant to the abov.~ findings, the Anaheim City Planning Commission does hereby adopt and recommend to the City Council ~f the City of Anaheim adoption of General Plan Amendment No. 362, Exhibit A, pertaining to the Land Use Element to re-designate the study area from the hlillside Low-medium Density Residential and General Commercial ~and use designations to the Commerciai Professfonal land use designation land use designation.
