A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM CI',Y PLANNING COMMISSIO~J
ADOPTING AND RECOMMENDfNG TO THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 366 PERTAINING TO THG LAND USE ELEMENT
WHEREAS, the Ciry Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt the Anaheim General Plan
by Resolution No. 69R-644, showing the general description and extent of possible future development
within ihe City; and
WHEREAS, Planning Commission directed staff to initiate an amendment to the Land
Use Element of the General Plan to re-designate ten lots located on the east side of East Gates Street
between Bali Road and Lanerose Drive, and two lots located at the southeast corner ef Lanerose Drive
and Eas' Gates Street from the Low-Medium Density Residentia! designation to the Low 7ensity
Residenti;~l designation; and that said properties are more specifically described as having a combined
frontage of 8fi7 feet on the east side of East Gates Drive, a frontage of 100 feet on the south side of Ball
Road and frontages of 100 feet on both the north and south sides of Lanerose Drive (totzling 2.0 acres);
and
WHEREAS, the P.~aheim City Planning Commission did hold a aublic hearing at the
Anaheim Civic Center, Council Chamber, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard, on June 7, 1999, at 1:30 p.m.,
notice of said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the
provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and ar~ainst said General
Plan Amendment and to investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection therewith;
and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due consideration, inspection, investigation and
study made by itself, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said hearing,
DOES HEREBY FIND:
1. That approval of this general plan amendment will provide consistency between the
area's Generai Plan Land Use Designation, existing RS-7200 "Residential, Single Family" zoning and
existing land uses (12 single family dwellings), and would be consistent with the Low Density Residential
Land Use designation and the character of the surrounding single family neighborhood.
2. That the proposed amendment would encourage the preservatio~~ and continued use of
lhis area for quality single-family homes.
3. That no one indicated their presence at the public hearing in opposition to the proposal,
that no correspondence in opposition was received, and that subsequent to Commission's action, a letter
was received in favor of this proposal.
4. That the evidence presented substantiates the need for an amendment to the Anaheim
General Plan and tha!, therefore, Exhibit A should be adopted ~~-,jesignating subject area for Low Density
Residential land uses.
CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT FINDING: That the Anaheim Gity
Planning Commission has reviewed the proposal to amend the Land Use Element of the General Plan to
change the current land ~~se designation from Low-Medium Density Residential to Low Densiky
Residential on certain prouerties consisting of 12 lots located on the east side of East Gates Stn~et
between Bail Road on the north and a point approximately 182 feet south of the centerline of Lanerose
Drive on the: south, and having a combined frontage of 887 feet on the east side of East Gates Drive, a
frontage of 100 fee3 oi; the south side of Ball Road and frontages of 100 feet on both the north and south
sides of Lanerose Drive (totaling 2.0 acres); and does hereby approve the Negative Declaration upon
finding that it Fias considered the Negative Declaration together with any comments received during the

public review process and further finding on the basis of the initial study and any comments received that
there is no evidence that the project will have a significant effect an the environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 17 R~30LVED, that pursuant to the above findings, the
Anaheim Ciry Planning Commission does hereby adopt and recommend to the City Council of the City of
Anaheim adoption of General Plan Amendment No. 366, Exhibit A, pertaining to the Land Use Element to
re-designate the subject properties fram the Low-Medium Density Residential designation to the Low
Density Residential designation.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was adopted at the Planning Commission meeting of
June 7, 1999.
