Agency Member Lopez. He asked for an update on how businesses are doing in the downtown area and
what new businesses are coming to the area.
Lisa Stipkovich, Executive Director of Community Development. While she does not have a specific
report on the subject, they do keep in touch with all the retailers on the site. All are currently paying their
rent in terms of the adjusted rent levels approved by the Agency. Events are continuing in downtown.
The Employee Family Day held yesterday included participation by many of the retailers and they did
extremely well. The businesses are very supportive of having more events and also with changing the
name to Center Street Promenade which the Agency approved a few weeks ago. The signs have been
ordered and changes will be made. In terms of new development, staff is going to be proposing a
modification to the Koll Disposition and Development Agreement and she will be informing each of the
Agency Members separately on that very shortly.
Lisa Stipkovich. In answering additional questions, she gave an update on the progress being made on
the small play area which was discussed at the meeting of December 17, 1996. Staff is also interviewing
people on the interactive fountain that is also a part of the plan and which will be coming back to the
Agency.
Agency Member Lopez. He asked about the progress being made because, although the progress is
slow, he wants the public and the residents to know that plans are moving forward. He is pleased with
the progress and although he would like to see things done faster, there are some circumstances over
which staff has no control. Regarding Employee Family Day, he was very pleased with that and City
staff did a great job.
Chairman Daly. He asked the current status of the tenancy of the PAC Bell Building and whether or not
it was full.
Lisa Stipkovich. It is not full but there has been an increase in the number of people returning to the
facility. It is about 70% occupied. She is going to give an update report on that issue. People are still
moving back in. She reiterated that relative to the modification to the Koll agreement, she would like to
set up individual meetings with Agency Members to bring them up to date; the Koll Company would like
that also. It will then be brought back to the full Agency.

Lopez, the following actions were authorized in accordance with the reports and recommendations
