Hello City Council,
My name is Rick Drexler. I am strongly in favor of campaign finance reform. I urge the Council to restore the
core elements of the Campaign Finance Reform Ordinance, which are as follows:
1. Restore recusal of members from voting on items of financial interest to PACs donors.
2. Restore 6 month recusal period after votes benefiting campaign donors
3. Restore limiting fundraising to year of election
4. Restore public right to seek remedy if ordinance is violated
These are necessary first steps for breaking the control corporate power has over Anaheim's government.
Implementing them would set a precedent for other cities in Orange County to follow.
