A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 TO
INCORPORATE GRANT FUNDS TRANSFERRED FROM THE COUNTY
OF ORANGE TO THE CITY PURSUANT TO THE 2021 EDWARD BYRNE
MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT, AND AUTHORIZING THE
CHIEF OF POLICE OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ANY GRANT-
RELATED DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the County of Orange (the "County") has applied for and received the 2021
Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant from the United States Department of Justice,
Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance (the "Grantor") to supplement the
resources available for programs designed to prevent and control crime in Orange County (the
"Grant");
WHEREAS, the terms of the Grant require that the County transfer funds to local agency
subgrantees to reimburse them for expenditures allowable and necessary to achieve the purposes
of the Grant;
WHEREAS,the City Manager of Anaheim,pursuant to his authority under Resolution No.
2021-031,executed a Memorandum of Understanding with the County to transfer funds to the City
as a subgrantee of the Grant (the "Agreement to Transfer Funds"), as well as related Grant
documents;
WHEREAS,the City is familiar with the terms,conditions and limitations of the Grant and
the Agreement to Transfer Funds and is willing to conform to those terms, conditions, and
limitations; and
WHEREAS,the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City to reflect and
incorporate any funds received by the City as a subgrantee of the Grant,and to increase the annual
appropriations and expenditures in the appropriate City program to reflect such award, as well as
to authorize the Police Chief to execute any further Grant-related documents
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as
follows:
1. The Anaheim Police Chief or his designee is hereby authorized to execute any documents
and take any actions necessary for the purpose of receiving funds from the Grant.
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this resolution does,
accept any such Grant funds received by the City of Anaheim as a subgrantee of the Grant without
further action of the City Council being required therefor.
3. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms, conditions
and limitations imposed by the Grantor and the County of Orange upon sub recipients of the Grant
funds, and the Anaheim Police Chief or his designee is hereby authorized and directed to execute
any agreements, assurances, or other documents as may be necessary in connection with the
acceptance of said Grant funds.
4. The annual budget of the City of Anaheim for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 shall be amended by
increasing the appropriations and authorized expenditures in Program No. 218 in such amounts as
are equal to the amount of Grant funds to be received by the City.

of the City of Anaheim this 27th day of September , 2022, by the
following roll call vote:
