2005-204RESOLUTION N0.2005- 204 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN FOR THE CITY OF ANAHEIM WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued regulations requiring municipalities to undertake an assessment of the natural hazards that may imperil public facilities within the Ciry and to recommend steps to mitigate such hazards by preparing a comprehensive Hazard Mitigation Plan (~Planl)); and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim assembled an interdepartmental task force to complete its Plan by identifying the risks to public facilities from natural hazards, the facilities which maybe affected and means to mitigate such risks; and WHEREAS, the Plan recommends hazard recognition and mitigation measures which will protect public property threatened by the natural hazards which face the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, a public meeting was held on October 7, 2004, in accordance with federal regulations to review the Plan with interested members of the Public; and regulation. WHEREAS, final adoption of~ the Plan by the City Council is also required by federal NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AS FOLLOWS: ' 1. The Anaheim Hazard Mitigation Plan is hereby adopted as~an official plan of the City of Anaheim. 2. The respective city officials with responsibilities identified in the Plan are hereby directed to implement the recommended actions assigned to them, Those officials will report on a quarterly basis on their actions and accomplishments to the City Manager. 3. The Ciry Manager will provide an annual progress report on the status of the implementation of the Plan to the Ctty Council.
