A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING A LETTER OF
UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES
ASSOCIATION, CLERICAL UNIT, AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim Municipal Employees
Association, Clerical Unit, have met and conferred and reached an understanding to
.,,, amend Article 40 (Vacation) of the Memorandum of Understanding and;
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, Clerical Unit
is in agreement with the recommendation contained in said Letter of Understanding;
and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the Letter of Understanding dated
November 29, 2005, between the parties has been prepared and signed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find #hat it is in
the best interest of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim that the Letter of Understanding dated November 29, 2005, between the
Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit and the City of Anaheim, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, is hereby
approved.

THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim this 6th day of December 2005.

LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
between the
ANAHEIM MUNICPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, Clerical Unit
and the
CITY OF ANAHEIM
The Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, Clerical Unit (AMEA), and the City of
Anaheim (ANAHEIM) have met and conferred and have reached an agreement to amend Article 40 of
the Memorandums of Understanding between the parties dated July 1, 2005 through January 8, 2009.
Article 40, Section 40.8 is amended to read:
40.8 An employee shall have the abilrt)r to be compensated for accrued vacation in either
two separate increments of up to #s~(~A} sixf 60 hours each or one increment of up to eig~
{~} one hundred twenty f 421N hours, subject to fhe following provisions:
40.8.1 A minimum of fiorty (40) hours of vacation must have been used during the previous
twelve months.
40.8.2 An employee's request for the annual vacation payoff is subject to fhe approval of the
employee's department head.
40.8.3 The employee's balance cannot draop below forty (40) hours as a r~ssult of fhe request.
