3. Authorize the Anaheim Housing Authority to apply to the U.S. Department of Housing
AHA and Urban Development for twenty vouchers for the Section 8 Mainstream Housing
Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Program, and authorize the Executive
Director to execute the required certifications and application documents.
ELisa Stipkovich, Community Development Director, reported this was an application to HUD for
twenty Section 8 housing vouchers for disabled individuals. Authority Member Hernandez
recognized the City had no control over how many housing vouchers would be available under
this program, but felt that 20 vouchers was insufficient for the need. He asked how many
vouchers were available to disabled individuals overall and Ms. Stipkovich indicated Anaheim had
set aside a total of 300 Section 8 vouchers for the disabled out of roughly 6,000 received in total
through various programs. Authority Member Hernandez asked if a workshop could be provided
related to disabled housing and options available to address the needs of the disabled.
