a. Primary Distribution mains which supply water to all
areas of the system shall be paid for by acreage fees
assessed on all pro~erties in the system except those
properties excluded in (1) above. The fees will be
base..l upon gross acreage served by dornestic \vater ser-
vice and/or. fire protection, and will be due at the
time application for water service is uade, or the prop-
erty is developed. This does not apply to application'
for temporary or irrigation service. The water main ex-,
tansiol1 fees shall he as follo\'1s:

Publicly-omlud facilities such as freeways, flood contro

is fnade. The reimbursement agreement shall be in effect
for a period of ten (10) years. In no case shall the
reirabursefnent exceed the d.eveloper' s cost of the exten-
sion.
If the Utility requires a main larger than that required
to serve a new development, the developer \'1i11 only t?ay
t.he cost of the size required to serve his property (min-
imum of a-inch for resiclen.tial, IO-inch for commercial,
and. 12-inch for industrial). .

The cost, including t.ile cost of inspection and supervi-
sion by the Utility, shall be paid di~ectly by the appli-

statement of actual construction cost in reasonable de-
tail. Tl~ installation shall be in accordance with the
plans and specifications prepared ,Ly the Utility.
For purposes of making any reimbursement to applicant or
crediting applicant ~.,ith payment of water, fees the cost
of the r~lnin e}~tension maJ.e by applicant shall be deemeJ
to be the lesser of (1) the actual cost or (2) the Utili-
ties per foot ~ost of water mains used in determining
t:he "ater IJain extension fees.

1. For all services, other than those where the developer is
installing the l:1ain, the utility shall furnish and install
the service connection, rneter and meter box after applica-
tion is made and all applicahle fees are paid. -
2. In ne," suLdivisions, and in other cases where the developer
installs the mains, the J.eveloper shall furnish and install
the service c~nnection and meter box, and tIle Utility shall
furnish .~lnu. install the Ineter.
3. The service connection, meter, and meter box will generally
be installed at a convenient location between the.curb or
edge of pavement' and the property line. If it .is consi-
dered impractical t.o install tl1~ .facilities in this loca-
tion, .they nlaY he illsta.lled upon the customer I s premises in

FIRE PROTECTION
A. PRIVATE FIRE PROTECTION
1. Private fire protection services will be 'provided under the
conditions specified in RULE lID. 16, "Service Connections,
i1eters, anu Customer's Facilities."
2. The rates for private fire protection services are specified
in RATE SCHEDULE W-PFL, "Private Fire Line Service.."
D. PUBLIC FIRE PROTECTIOl.J
1. rl'he location of. all public fire hydrants shall be determined
by the utility and the City of Anaheim Fire Department.
2. Where public fire hydrants are installed on Primary Distri-
bution .IYiains, th.e cost for these llydrants .shall be borne. by
the property benefitting from tllese hydrants according to
the following rules:
a. Where l~drants of standard spacing ar~ installed on one
side of a right-of-\-Iay to serve both sides of a right-
of-way, there shall be a front fo.oeage of $2..00 per" foot
on property which fronts this right-af-way. Street in-
tersections shall not be included in the calculation of
the fees, hO\-lever, corner lots will be req-qired to pay
the appropriate charges on each s~~e of a lot.
L. lvhere hydrants of standard spacing are installed on both
sides of a right-of-\vay, tile front footage cllarge. shall
be $4.00 per foot. Street intersection and corner lots
shall be treated as outlined in (a.) above.
