A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXE-
CUTION OF AN AGllliEMENT BETWEEI~ THE CITY OF
A:t-JAH"EIM AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DIVISION
OF HIGm~AYS, DEPARTNEtIT OF TRANSPORTATION RE-
~...TING TO F~D:2Rd.L A.ID I~lp.i(OVEMENT PROJECTS AND
pn.OGP~1 SUPPLEMENTS THERETO.
.WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has declared
it to bz in the national interest for Federal funds to be expended
'::or hi3hway projects; and
WHEREAS, th~ Legislature of the State or California has
enacted legislation by-which certain -authorized Federal funds may
be made available for use on local transportation facilities in
accordance "lit:, the intent of Federal acts; and
'NHEREAS, there 2xists a compelling need for improvement
of str2ets and highways within the boundaries of the City of
Anaheim; and
::.JHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the State of California
desire to make u.se of such Federal funds as may be available within
the jurisc1ict:tonal boundari.es of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, before Federal aid will be made available for
projects, the. City o~ Anaheim and the State of California are re-
quired to enter into an agreement relative to prosecution of the
sa.i.d project and luaintenance of the cOffi?leted facility; and
\-lHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Trans-
portati.on has submitted to the City of Anaheim a form of agreement,
and the City Council finds that it would be for the benefit and
in the best interests of the City to enter into said agreement
with tile Stat.9 of California, ar,.d that the same should be approved.
NO'\.v, THEREFORE, BE IT "RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City o:.~ Anaheim that said agreem.ent this day submitted to the City
Council to b.'J luade and entered into between the City of i\nahei.m
and the State ~)f Calj_fornia, acting by and through the Divisi.on of
Hi~h1;va]S 0-:: th~ Department of Transportation relative to the
prosecntion and maintenance of Federal aid improvement. projects
upon the terms and conditions set forth in said agreement be,
and the same is hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said agreement and
Program Supplements thereto for and on behalf of the City of
Anaheiril.
