72R-055 ._.~~ RESOLUTION NO. 72R-55 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-. , VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT: POLICE PACILITIES BUILDING SUNSCREEN, 425 SOUTH HARBOR BOULEVARD, IN THE CITY OP ANAHEIM, WORK ORDER NO. 791. . APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS AND SPECIF~CATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION 'THEREOF; AUTlIORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM- PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI- FICATIONS, ETC. ; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.. WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the construction and completion of a public improvement in the City of Anaheim, to wit: Police Facilities Building Sunscreen, 425 South Harbor Boulevard, in the City of Anaheim, consisting of the furnishing and installation of a metal sunscreen on a portion of the wes~ side of the Police Facilities Building: and appurtenant work as more particularly set forth in .the plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City Clerk or City Engineer, Work Order No. 791. AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Department of Public Works to prepare deta1led des1gns, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications, and estima~es of quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con- struction of said public improvement; and WHEREAS, said Department of Public Works has prepared said detailed des1qns, plans, prof1les, .draw1nqs and specifications for the construction of said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed . ~ --'~~--~~--- ~-- -_:~ residents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the construction of .said public improvement and should be approved. --- ........... NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the detaile~.d~sign., plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said pu~li~ improvement berein- above mentioned and .des.cribed, be, and ,he' .~e are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said ,. Deoartment. of Public Works . AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED t~at said public improvement shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specificat.ion. ..as,. ,pJ.:~pared by said De9artment of Public Works ... and hereby approve , and such addenda or modific.tions thereto as may be ~pproved prior to the awarding ,of" bids the~efQr~ BE IT PURTHER RESOLVED' that the city Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and' directed to publish a notice according to law, invi~ing sealed pro~sals for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities aqd transportation, inclu4ing power, fuel and water, and performing' all work necessary to construct and complete, in a qood and workmanlike manner, in .trict accor- dance with said detailed desig~s, plans, profiles., drawings and specifications as prepared by said' DaDartment of Pub1i~ Works , .th~.ptiblic improve~~nt ~~~e~pabove meb- tioned and described, and fixing the 9th day of. March 19 72 , at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date and Dour for-the opening of said bids at the City,Counc11 Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be published twice, the first of which publications' ,aha.l be at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications shall be at least five (5) days apart. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful biddeJ: or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction, installa~ tion and completion of said public improvement her~inabove mentioned and described, in accordance with the. pLans and speci- fications prepared by said Depar~nt of P~lic ~yrks , the not1ce invit1ng sea ea proposals, this resolution and all applicable City Ordinances Qr Cqde Sections and the laws of the State of California, and sqall be required to post bonds and insurance in the amounts and within the time required by law, as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in a form approved by the city Attprney.
