A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING A GRANT DEED
CONVEYING TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY FOR AN EASEMENT FOR ROAD AND PUBLIC
UTILITY PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim is
desirous of purchasing the hereinafter described real property
for municipal purposes, to wit: An easement for road and
public utility purposes
and
WHEREAS, the owners of said property ha ve offered
to sell and convey the same to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim finds
that it is for the benefit and best interest of the City of
Anaheim to accept said offer and purchase said real property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the offer of NATHAN SMOOKE and
MARION SMOOKE, husband and wife,
to sell to the City of Anaheim the following described real
property situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange,
State of California, to be used for an easement for road and
public utility purposes
and more particularly describe ac as ff ws:
An easement for road and public utility purposes over, under
and across the Northerly 60 feet of that portion of the North-
east quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 26, Township
4 South, Range 10 West, in the Rancho San Juan Cajon de Santa
Ana, as shown on a Map recorded in Book 51, page 10 of Mis-
cellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California,
described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwesterly corner of land described in
the deed to Beulah Peckham and others, recorded July 11, 1955
in Book 3133, page 28 of Official Records, being a point on
the North line of said Northwest quarter of Section 26,
distant Westerly 610.00 feet from the Northeast corner of
said Northwest quarter; thence Southeasterly 429.31 feet to
the Southwesterly corner of said land of Peckham; thence
Westerly 327.03 feet, more or less, to the Southeasterly
corner of land described in the deed to Lloyd S. Smith,
recorded July 20, 1937 in Book 893, page 426 of Official
Records; thence Northwesterly 40.40 feet along the North-
easterly line of said land of Smith to the Southerly corner
of land described in the deed to Edison Securities Company,
recorded April 22, 1949 in Book 1833, page 41 of Official
Records; thence Northerly 392.82 feet, more or less, to the
Northeasterly corner of said land of Edison Securities
Company, being a point on the North line of said Northwest
quarter; thence Easterly 258.19 feet to the point of
beginning.
be, and the same is hereby, accepted by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim, and that the City of Anaheim accept a convey-
ance of said property.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Auditor of the
City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized to pay to the
owner or owners of said real property, out of General Funds of
the City of Anaheim, the sum of One Dollar 01.00).
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 3rd day of December 19 63
