Subject:\[EXTERNAL\] Pleading to stop discrimination against Poultry of Color in Anaheim Rory
the Rooster faces the guillotine banned from our great city

RE: Ana Code 18.38.030 .50
Under Animal Keeping, Poultry of Color are banned completely from all residential zones in our
fine city
Proposal: Roosters are unfairly banned in the city. This is unjust and discriminatory practice of
A NIMBY (NOT in My Barn Yard) approach that needs modification
Recommend: Alter/Modify the code
Current reading: “…roosters and peacocks shall not be permitted in any residential zone, unless
otherwise specified in the underlying zone.”
Narrative: Residences in Anaheim are widely varied in size, purpose and use. This 65 year
resident of the City of Donald the Duck, Mickey the Rodent and Foghorn Leghorn ie Disneyland,
has no room for roosters. Peacocks? I don't like MSNBC and don't miss those banshee screamers,
but little Rory the Rooster should not have to DIE (Diversion Inclusion & Egglaying) because
of small minded animal haters.
We are under the mark for the angel of death will NOT pass over our home unless some
courageous city employees take the torch for a modified law, ending the overly broad
banishment.
Our property backs up to a east Anaheim park at the end of a cul de sac; beyond the South Park,
we have rooster lovers to the East and West; in fact, the 57 Riverside freeway is one street away
and makes a lot more noise than our little beloved rescued Rooster. My stepwife will banish ME if
this KillRoy (Roy is his nickname for Rory) campaign continues. Yes, the freeway makes even more
noise than when
Trout (another animal name) hits one out down the street at Anaheim Big A.

Please add: " Code 18.38.030 / .50 is modified herein: "...underlying zone. Unless a residence can
be shown to be appropriately distanced from other dwellings and the poultry of color meets the
guidelines of the
county code regarding "intermittent" and "incessant".
Realize we are a country of immigrants: I am a 2nd generation Poland and Germany native
Californian. The rooster adorns our Polish flag. In fact, Foghorn Leghorn states:
"If I’m a roo – Ah say – if I’m a rooster, I hope to be struck by lightning! Uh kapow! Well,
let's put it another way. Way’ that is." - Foghorn Leghorn.
Even Foghorn had to disguise in Looney tunes being a chicken of the male persuasion (hens are
bland designed by God to protect them from predators...no hens no eggs no more chicks) to keep
Henery
the chicken hawk out of his tail feathers.
Please "FREE Rory the Rooster" by changing the death sentence. He's no whale like Willy but a
nice amiable little guy. PETA is not around and when you ban universally, you miss opportunities
to be the friendly city of lights known for acts of kindness.
I don't want to go homeless if my wife can't keep Rory alive at our little domicile. Thank you for
considering. As to the cowardly anonymous crow blower, may the fleas of a thousand peacocks
infest his or her armpits
